Excited for 2011 - we are adding to our family!

It is offical - we will be getting Rooney a brother or sister!  I'm very excited.  DH got back from China in the wee hours today and while on our walk with Rooney agreed that he is totally on board (which is wonderful as I already have put our name on our breeders wait list - shhhhh).  We are crossing our fingers for a brother or sister in the April, May, June time frame.  Rooney will be 1 in August so I think the timing would be perfect.  This time around I am not going to set my heart on a particular color or sex.  Remember - Rooney was going to be a cream puppy - lol!  We might be getting a red or cream and it might be the medium size, Rooney is a mini.  The only thing it must have - a big ol black nose!!!!!  All we have to do is wait and start dreaming of names.  Maybe for a girl - Garland (for Judy of course) and for a boy - Stewart (for Jimmy).  Send me any and all suggestions!  Happy New Year - this is just going to be the best year ever!!!

Jane - your comment about strategy really made me laugh!  I'm pretty good at getting what I want but this really just kinda happened.  A nice stroll with my nice husband and a really cute dog - how could he say anything but yes!  Maybe I had a strategy and didn't realize it!

Yea!  I love your name ideas and feel they would be just right for you. Big doodle nose is a must!  And any doodle color will compliment Rooney's coloring.  I never wanted a really light color - and there is Clancy sitting at my feet, dirty face and all.

Nice strategy, Jane.  It's always good to hit them with something like this when they're exhausted from an overseas flight and have REALLY missed you.  I must applaud you timing.  It's going to seem like such a long wait, but by the Spring Rooney should be trained and "ready" for a brother or sister.  Congrats!

Congratulations...Rooney will love having a "sissy" or brother!!!  I am so glad you didn't get a cream color only because little Rooney is so unusual and adorable.  I think it adds so much more character to their looks with some variations.  So he is named after "Mickey Rooney"?  I never really thought about it.  I was thinking you named him along the Irish line of names.  We met Gracie when she was 2 weeks old and visited every weekend.  We had a huge list of little girl names but we picked based on her looks.  Sometimes you need to see the dog before you can name it.  People think she is named after Gracie Allen (but she isn't) so I guess if we were to ever get a male he would be George!  ha ha

I completely understand about already having your name on a waiting list before DH gave his seal of approval. In our house I just TOLD him I was getting a dog and he didn;t even want anything to do with it. HAHAHAHA!!!!

That attitude lasted about 10 minutes after he first held him at the airport! 

Second time it was DH who wanted the 2nd as I was pretty content either way, but I am glad we did add Bella in Oct. Murphy was almost 2 by then.  It is definitely a lot more work and I seem to be combing or cleaning one or the other every day, sometimes 2ce a day as they love to run around the yard and we still have some dirt in an area that OFCOURSE just calls their names!!!! 

Well good for you and suggestions? I love both names, stock up on Nature;'s Miracle, paper towels and chew toys. Otherwise, you know the drill.
