Well I never thought I would be a "dog person" or even get so attached to one that I would feel such amazing love and emotion over the little guy.
I didn't think it was possible to get so attached to a dog. As a child my family never had indoor dogs.. or cats. I don't remember ever going to a vet with any of the childhood pets.
I now can no longer walk past the Pet Valu store, or Dog Barkery, or the pet section of a grocery store without a care. I race home from work to be greeted by a tail wagging friend full of unconditional love. I consider reducing my work week to spend more time with him.
He is allowed on the furniture, I don't care if I have dog hair on my clothes, I scoop his poop - and inspect consistency if needed. I never used to understand how people could spend hundreds on a pet at the vet or toys. I can now..
Well all this was before we We have had Chester for almost 2 weeks- he is 10 weeks old now. But not only has he warmed my cold toes when I stand on a tile he has just been sleeping 'Bear Rug style' on..but he has also warmed the cockles of my heart!
My Husband built a mini ceramic tile floor so our puppy could be more comfortable in our rec room ( Chester wouldn't settle for long on the carpet.)
He has changed our lives, we have both lost weight, we are more active, happier, and have a great new focus to our lives.
I am proud to have a furkid- (A term I would have rolled my eyes at pre-Chester.)..He is the best thing to have happened to us!

Oooh, weight loss! I'll have to check myself. No seriously, we love wine in our house and leading up to bringing Maggie home I went on a wine diet just because I knew how exhausting the first couple weeks can be. Hopefully that will shave off some calories.
I love your sentiments here too and I share them with you. Never thought I would be a dog person either. So happy for you and cute Chester.
