Today we said goodbye to a dear friend: our beloved border collie, Cass.
Cass had been fighting a good fight but the bone tumors took over her body and quality of life. We were originally going to wait another week but Clark realized today was the day. She got her favorite meal of a cheeseburger and fries before we said goodbye. We buried her along with Thule's ashes this evening.
Cass joined Clark's life nearly 15 years ago and had been a most loyal and devoted friend. She was the dog that turned me into a dog lover and helped me see that keeping a dog indoors was not insane, but the best way to keep a dog.
We were truly blessed by having had Cass in our lives.
Adina, I'm so sorry about Cass. It seems like you were just grieving Thule, and now you had to say goodbye again. Please know that you have so many friends sending their love and support during this sad time.
Think of all the dogs that will live a wonderful life in your home because Cass became a part of your life. Such a wonderful lesson he taught you. Hugs to you all!
sorry to hear about Cass, it is so hard to say goodbye even when you know it is right. She was well loved and I'm sure that she gave back 10 fold to her family. I like to think our beloved pets are whole once again, happy, running free and just waiting for us on the other side of the bridge.
Hugs to you all. Cass was a lucky dog as well as a Good Dog. Hold her forever in your hearts and know that a time will come when you can smile again thinking of her and Thule.
I loved hearing about Cass. She really seems like she was the perfect dog. Clark did such a wonderful job of training her and she did such a wonderful job of opening up your eyes to the world of dogs.
Thank you for posting more pictures of her. Skip and I are so sorry for you right now. We know this is a very difficult time for your family. Just know we are all sending our love to you, Clark, Natalie, and Rosco.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I too know how hard it is to say goodbye to a beloved companion. She was a good dog who lived a good life. Rest in peace, sweet Cass.
I was just enjoying the pictures of Clark with Cass, then I read your post. I'm so sorry! It's hard to say good-bye! I'm glad Thule and Cass get to be together!
