Happy 1st Birthday to Quincy!

He still has his puppiness - and still chews up stuffies, steals socks and drags in sticks from the yard, but he has grown up some too!  His routines are set and he accepts the not so fun time willingly and with good grace.  His energy at the dog park is boundless and he will do "sit pretty" for any audience as  many times as asked as long as a treat is at hand.  He bounces up onto our bed to lick me awake every morning as if it is the best morning ever! and he makes it so!  

He has healed our hearts that mourned our lab and brought us all so much joy again.  I love to see how much my husband and son love him, too, and I am not even jealous that he loves them back and spreads his affections around for all of us to share!  

He amazes me with how calm he can be and makes us all laugh when he gets the loonies and runs through the house like it was on fire.  Watching the satisfaction he can get from chewing a bully stick with the intensity of a safe cracker and the exuberance he shows in chasing after a ball makes you realize the simple pleasures in life are the best.

He still insists he can fit under the chair where I usually sit, just as he did when he first came home.  Just this morning, he finally knocked it over flat trying to extricate himself from under it!   You are too big, you silly doodle, to fit under there anymore!  Aw, my puppy is growing up...Happy Birthday Quincy!
