I know many who would really like to Foster worry that they will never be able to give up the dog when the time comes, or that they will be too sad when the dog leaves. I know for me, as I've mentioned before, the only sadness that I had was that I knew that Topper had to get used to yet another home. Everyone (my family) had their doubts about my ability to let him go when the time came. I somehow knew that would not be a problem. When he left, the tears everyone expected never came. That being said, yesterday I got an e-mail from his new Mom that included pictures of him with his new sisters, and a picture of him on his new bed (with a toy I bought him beside him). He was all settled in. The girls were loving on him. The story was told of his seeing a deer in his new back yard, taking lots of walks and getting used to his new neighborhood. This family traveled a total of almost 20 hours to get a dog they had never seen, but felt was the right dog for their family and they took a chance on him. Mom said you know what, we already know that he was the "RIGHT" dog for our family! That's when the tears came! He is home, they love him!
