Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
We are helping Michelle Long by doggie sitting her foster goldendoodle, Bailey, while Michelle is visiting family over the Spring break. Bailey is an absolutely darling 11-month old female doodle but, we have a four pound 14-week old Maltese puppy that we were a bit concerned about. We weren't worried that Bailey would do anything to hurt the pup on purpose but, a 30-pound dog could easily hurt a small pup by accident.
Not to worry, we introduced the pup to Bailey in our yard and Bailey took one look at the pup, put her tail between her legs and took off running away. It was hilarous wit that tiny pup chasing the doodle, with the pup wanting to play and the Bailey not wanting anything to do with Sammy. I wish I had my video camera.
Bailey and Sammy are now friends and Bailey is quite gentle with the pup. Bailey is laying down by my computer desk right now and the pup is climbing all over her. I just LOVE doodles. We have had five doodles in our lives, four fosters and Holly. Every one of the doods has been just great with our little Maltese.
Holly and Bailey, of course, get along like they have been raised together.

Your love for rescues is inspiring! Can't wait to see more pics later!
Pat and Traveler...
You wonder what a four-pound puppy looks like
I posted a picture of four-pound Sammy on my photos. I will shoot some tomorrow with Sammy and Holly and Bailey...
I DO wish you had had your video camera so we could share in the fun.
Awwww...that must have been sooo fun to watch! I'm trying to picture a four-pound puppy. Hmmmm...four pounds of butter, stacked... LOL
Adorable! Pictures please!!!
Thanks for doodle-sitting Bailey, I'm so glad she is getting along well with Holly and being gentle with the little ones.
That sounds so cute! Oh, how I wish we had a video or pictures! I love doodles for their friendly nature also. It seems rare for any doodles to not get along with other dogs, doesn't it?
That's a lovely picture you paint, doodles are so gentle and Maltese puppies are so tiny. I remember a Maltese breeder telling me when we got our first one that these dogs are so easily hurt as they are tiny and gentle too and she was worried about having children with them for that reason. I salute your amazing kindness to these dogs and for giving them the chance of a happy forever home.
