My fiancee and I have been wanting a dog for some time now and out of no where we found our perfect match!
We had just moved into our first home and since Dan works nights I was staying there in that big house all by myself most of the time. This was very lonely not to mention a bit scary... so I approached him the next morning about wanting to get a dog. We had talked about this possibility for a while now... but we just weren't sure we were ready for the responsible. However, we began looking through the newspaper ads and found a wonderful family who had 10 goldendoodle puppies! We called right away and to our surprise only three were left. We went to Seymour, IN right away to go and see them. From the pictures the lady had sent us I had my heart set on one, but I was trying to keep an open mind since I knew that the personality of the dog was most important. We reached the farm to see the puppies. The one I had my heart set on from the picture was very aggressive... not in a mean way... but in a playful way. He wanted all the attention and didn't want us to pay any attention to the other two. We had heard you shouldn't get a puppy that is that way since that shows they may be more dominant as they grow older... so we took a closer look at the two laying together under the coat rack. It was a little caramel colored girl and a light tan boy. Soon they decided to come out and greet us. They both had a lot of the same personality but the little boy just was so lovely and affectionate we knew right then and there he was the perfect fit for us! We named him Remington!
On the way home he was so scared, and you could tell he just wasn't use to riding in a car. He sat on my lap the whole way falling asleep again and again. He was soooo dead tired. When we finally arrived home he got a bath right away since he was very dirty. We felt so badly to do this to him since he was already worn out, but he didn't do to bad of a job. After getting him all warm and dry we put him in his crate... Dan curled up on the floor next to him until he fell asleep and to our surprise he slept through the entire night.
Remington is now 13 weeks old and we have had him for 2 weeks. We could not have asked for a more perfect dog for us. He doesn't cry when he is in his crate at all. He is already learning his basic commands. We haven't had to many accidents either. He has crawled into our hearts and we have already experienced so much joy from him. Remington has completed our family and we are so thankful!
