Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I joined DoodleKisses because we were getting a goldendoodle. I had hoped to get some much needed information from people that owned doodles. I was not disappointed. I have learned so much and hope to use this education when Lilly comes home.
What I did not expect to find was the love and support of total strangers. I posted about having to board Lilly for most of the month in September. An angel in the form of Dori (and Rue) stepped forward and offered to watch Lilly. I was so moved I got tears in my eyes. Both my husband and I were/are blown away at the kindness of her and her husband to welcome us and Lilly into her home. We will drive to Omaha to meet them in August. I am so looking forward to meeting them. Watching her videos of Rue and her lovely home, I don't know if Lilly will want to come home. She will think she is at the Four Seasons..um..maybe Scott can go on the Wooden Boat Cruise and I can stay with Lilly at Dori's and Rue's.

Mimi....Yes, that is what Rua needs, too. I will have to also give her a clothes allowance so the girls can buy matching dresses.
I had the same idea. I asked my DH if he thought they would issue Rua a credit card! LOL
Thank you, Mimi for all your kind words, and to everyone else. If able, all of you would do so. Besides Rua and her kitty sister PuffDog (who dwells downstairs most of the time) it is just me and Doug. So, we have plenty of room and time. Fortunately, my DH is wonderful is sharing responsiblities around the house...I shop and cook and cleans up and does dishes. I wash clothes, he folds and puts away. I dust and pick up, he vacuums. I buy wine and he opens it.
Anyway, if it wasn't for the fact that he is on-board with having Lilly at our pad, I probably wouldn't have volunteered...he will have to come home during the day for puppy potties! At this point, I don't want another puppy...I am enjoying spending time with Rua one-on-one and am not ready to dilute it. But, in the back of my mind, once Rua is "fully" trained (perhaps, mostly), I can see myself getting another Doodle. I think I would actually get a boy...after all of the Doodle poses and discussions able belly rubs, I guess I am not adverse to little boy parts anymore. And from what I read, I think bringing a boy puppy in when you already have a girl is best.
Mimi, I really enjoyed talking with you on the phone. I do think Scott would be greatly disappointed if you didn't go with him, but, who is to say you can't come back for a weekend visit with Lilly and the girls can play while we chat.
Oh...please send me a picture of Lilly. I was trying to find one to show my DH!
Mimi What a great ending to your worry of putting Lilly in a kennel.. It all worked out, I knew it would. Enjoy your cruise... Dori you are awesome.
Could this be the start of a new group??? DK dog sitters? Count me in...
Mimi - I am SO happy for you! Now you can enjoy your trip more & not be so worried about your baby. Wow, and just think...she'll be getting safe socialization with another dog while you're away. You can't get any better than that!
Dori - You are awesome to do that with a new puppy! This may be the beginning of you wanting a 2nd doodle???
