I hate being sick... but with my doodle by my side it isn't so bad :)
I have been so sick this past weekend with a horrible cold/sinus infection. Uhhhggg! Usually my weekend are reserved for time spent with Remington and homework of course... but this weekend I just couldn't function enough to make that happen.
I got up on Saturday and was just so tired... I seriously ended up spending the entire day sleeping on the couch. Most Saturdays I wake up early with Remington and we go for a long walk together, so I figured that he would be a crazy dog since he never got the chance to get his energy out. Instead he laid down on the floor next to the couch all day and slept the day away with his Mom. Of course, we had to get up to have lunch and go to the bathroom, but then it was back to that spot by the couch. It really made me feel good to have him there with me and I have to admit I was kind of surprised by it. Mostly when Remington take naps it is away from us on a cold kitchen or bathroom floor, so I really felt like he knew that I needed him. He is so special to me.
Sunday was the same way. We slept the day away on the couch, however, I did make it up to go for a walk with him. Once again he never once left my side that day. He was my medicine for sure. :)
On Sunday evening I went to bed around 10ish... I was still so tired even though I had been sleeping like crazy. Remington took his usual place in the bathroom. All night long I woke up with coughing fits... they were awful... and I felt so bad because I knew my little dog could not sleep. After I would calm myself down I would hear Remington let out a huge sigh... saying, "Geeze, Mom, QUIET!"
This morning it was hard to get up... I was still tired and my body ached from coughing so much, but Remington was there to help me realize I have to keep going.
He has this special place in my heart that no other dog will ever be able to touch. He will always be my "first dog" and every night before I go to bed I remember to thank God for making him just for us. He is truly special :)
