We just picked up a puppy from a trailer park in the Los Angeles area who had been rescued from Gang Bangers who were torturing it.  The pup needs a partial tail amputation and its face has been burned.

I am not a forgiving man!  I could easily maim or kill anyone that I caught torturing a puppy like this one. And that is not just an empty burst of anger. I would enjoy doing so!

Anyway, the puppy is at our vet and the vet will amputate the tail partially.  It seems like her face has healed from the previous abuse. She seems to have a loving personality dispite her abuse. She will have a loving safe home with us and we will eventually find her a home in which she will be loved and cared for in the manner any dog deserves.

That is sooo awesome of you to rescue and help puppies like that.  I totally understand your anger...I'd say most of us feel the exact same way about people who do that.  Thank you for making the doggy world a better place!

That enrages me also.  You do so much to help these innocent pups.  As always, I admire you and your wife.

I never stop being shocked by what abuse humans will think of for these creatures of unconditional love.  A friend of mine is fostering a small female Boston terrier that was sexually abused!  How can people be so awful!  I truely hope there is Karma, and while I may not see it these people will eventually get what they deserve.

You are wonderful for stepping up to do the right thing, over and over.  Thank you so much!  I only wish there were more people like you and our DRC family!

Richard,  Thank you doesn't really convey how deeply I (and so many others) appreciate what you do.  I am in awe of all that you and Judy do in your rescue and fostering.

Thank you and your wife and the original rescurer for your kindness, compassion, and generosity.  This will be a special puppy, and I'm sure the good you've done will multiply in all kinds of ways as time goes on.

Regarding prosecuting the gang-bangers... That won't happen.  Even if her original rescuer knows the bangers (which I don't have any idea of), it would be very dangerous for her to report them and then it would be a matter of their word against hers.

Hopefully a rival gang will soon erradicate these vermin over a turf war for drugs.

Some people think that gangs killing gangs is terrible.  I personally think that it isgreat! It is like rats killing each other.  No loss at all to the human race...

I had little Lexie in my arms as Judy administered the pain meds with a syringe.  This little girl who has been so brutalized by humans reached up and kissed me.  Dogs are the most amazing creatures on God's Earth. She is eating and drinking fine so we think that the worst is over for her.

She had her tail partially amputated by the vet, a ragged dew claw removed, six baby teeth removed and she has been spayed. We felt bad subjecting her to what we know would be painful time but, we made a decision with the vet that it would be best to do all procedures at one time under one anesthesia rather than subject this little girl to multiple anesthesias.

At least when she recovers from her surgeries, it will be all downhill from then on.

Thank you for rescuing that puppy.... and providing him/her with the love and care that s/he needs.   Any chance someone's getting prosecuted for it?   Or was it a grab the puppy and run sort of situation?!?

I too get so mad when I hear people abusing animals I wish and pray they would get the same treatment that they inflicted on poor innocent animals.  I am glad that you have her safe and sound and she in on the way to a better life without pain.

Bless you, Richard, you and Judy have helped save so many lives. A happy, healthy New Year to you and all those under your roof and in your heart.
