Walking Holly is one of my favorite past-times. I especially love walking where there are people who always admire Holly. She is a people magnet.

Unfortunately, my walking has been halted by a combination of knee and back problems. I had my right knee totally replaced on February 2ND and that surgery was totally successful. I experienced minimal pain and I was able to walk very quickly. However, my back started causing me extreme pain and halted any type of exercise. I will have minimally invasive spine surgery as soon as it can be scheduled.

On the bright side; the doctor assures me that I will have a strong pain-free back after the surgery and, since he surgery will be minimally invasive, the recovery time will be fairly short. I will be able to start walking my big darling soon after the surgery. I have had back problems for years and the thought of clearing it up is exciting. I REALIZE THAT MANY SURGERIES ARE NOT SUCCESSFUL BUT THE DOCTOR ASSURES ME THAT MY CHANCES OF SUCCESS ARE IN THE HIGH NINETY PERCENTILE.

Also, on the bright side; Holly has a fenced one acre yard to run and play in. So she is not without exercise.

Hey Richard, so sorry to hear about the back surgery on top of the knee replacement. My husband is going through the same thing you are, and I know how debilitating it can be. We'll be sending good vibes your way for a successful surgery and a quick recovery. And I'm sure Holly will be the best "get well" medicine you could want! You'll be out walking her again in no time!

Richard... I'll be praying for you.. back problems are the pits and I"m very glad your physician is so hopeful about the outcome (in my experience Physicians are typically pessimistic!).. You'll be walking Holly in no time. Lucy said to tell Holly hi from her! It's hard for me to believe they're litter-mates sometimes.. lol

I have not been able to sit at the computer - too painful. I am actually looking forward to the surgery so I can get back to doing the things I like - such as walking my big girl, Holly and joining in on doodlekisses.

I understand the aching back. I hope your back heals as fast as your knee!
