Ice day!!!

I just felt the urge to post at 5:55 am here in NJ.  I am a teacher and we just got a call now...after I have been awake for an hour with 5 month old doodle baby Stella (I should add that I also just finished putting that mascara on).....that school is closed due to the ice storm.  What are the odds that I get little miss Stella to go back to sleep so I can enjoy a good rest on this ice day??? lol slim to none??  =P  It figures...

I don't wish the bad weather on Californians, but I would love to be able to have a snow or ice day pop up occasionally.  I feel like it would just be a deliciously unexpected stay-cation.

Hehehe here in Jersey we tend to get off pretty easily from school...my district is huge and has a ton of buses so we actually have 3 snow days built into our year...and we usually use them!  This is number 2 of 3...so hopefully this crazy weather starts to slow down.  Well, Stella and her big brother Seamus were not much in the napping mood today....go figure....but luckily even they did not want to be outside in this icy mess.  Usually they try to stay outside in the cold and snow for as long as possible, but today they just ran out, did their business, and ran in.  =)  On the bright side, I finally got my Christmas decorations all down....lol it's about time!

Yay, how nice! I hope Stella decided to have a 'chill' day.. pun intended..

We have some of the most extreme winter temps here in Alberta and we never got a day off of school due to weather.. in fact my mother still made me walk to school in -40 weather lol! (up hill, both ways.. LOL jk)

How fun! I live in Utah and growing up I never had a snow day. That is right, not once, in elementary middle or high school. I guess they just assume we can take any amount of snow? hmph! My college did close a while ago due to a huge blizzard, but of course I didn't have class that day... LOL

we've got the ice here in the burbs of NYC. Duncan wasn't so fond of stepping on what he THOUGHT was the ground only to slip thru to a puddle underneath. like walking on toffee and getting to a liquid center. HA! Hope Stella sleeps most of the day with you.
