Im officially doodle crazy..... watch out for the signs - it could happen to you!

I've had dogs before..... big ones, small ones, scruffy ones and gruffy ones.... but never have I joined forums about dogs.

Never before have I spent more time looking for doggie collars and doggie beds than looking for anything for myself. He even has a jumper (for when he gets his hair cut and its cold!).... and a dressing gown (for when he's wet!).



I even have a sweatshirt with my favourite picture of my doodle on it... (not that I wear it outside - coz that would be crazy!)



Today I saw a doodle walk past my house and so Welly and I raced out after it.... just to ask 'is that a Goldendoodle?' even though I already knew the answer.




The calender on my wall is the Goldendoodle 2010 calender.



The other calender on my wall is MY goldendoodle 2010 calender (just Welly pics - I mean who else could be in it!).



The picture on my phone is my doodle.




What is it about a doodle that makes everything else pale into insignificance?




I got an unexpected day off work today and my immediate thought was 'Whoopy... another day to walk with Welly'.

It occurred to me this weekend that I haven't shopped for myself in over a month! I have shopped for Banjo a couple of times a week in that month. We always seem to find an excuse to stop in any pet store we pass. If not for food or treats, then for another toy, a different leash, collar, grooming item or any other item we never knew existed until now. I find great comfort in knowing I'm not the only doodle maniac out here! I've had to make an effort not to bore friends and family with my new obsession. Luckily there's DK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, it gets worse. I DO wear my Doodle clothing outside...everywhere I go! I even have a sweatshirt that says "Official Dog Walker" on the front and the back is embroidered saying "Gracie's Official Walker"...DH has one too! Gracie has her own car, license plate that says RGRACEE, a bumper sticker I made for her with her photo on it, postage stamps with her face on them, even a Pet Driver's license with all her info and photo on it, just to name a few things. You are just getting started!!!! Enjoy the ride because it will be the best thing ever and you will love every moment together with your Doodle!!

I understand completely.... I was wondering this morning if everyone else talks to their doodles. I figured that might be because it is just me and Shelby at home, but yes... I talk to her! I don't quite have all the doodle-ness that you do in my home yet - Shelby is only 5 months. But I can say without doubt - I shop for her more than myself.
