Kate Came Back!

As many of you know Darwin has been slightly off this summer from the drastic change in home and company. I suspect one of the big reasons was that my SIL Kate left for the summer. We lived at the in-laws for 8 months, and during those 8 months Darwin grew really close to Kate. I think they were really good for each other and in a way he was kind of her dog for that time. When she left we did also and moved a few hours away into a completely different area. We also went from having a yard to having none. I knew it might be rough for him but I really do think he took it all pretty hard. He displayed some anxiety, and definitely some lethargy/lack of energy much of the time. But in the last couple of months he's really started to be himself again. 

Kate came home last week and I knew he was going to be SO excited to see her. He was! We spent a few days with her before she headed off to CA this morning and they had a blast together. His whole bum was wagging and wouldn't stop when we saw her at first, and he went right back to climbing onto her lap for a cuddle. It was fun to see him so happy. :-)

I am so glad that Darwin is such a happy dog, and I have a feeling that this time he won't feel bad when she's gone. He will be okay. :-) A few pictures from the week

Great pics!  So glad you're all settled in.  I've often wondered how dogs choose their favorite people.  I remember when you talked about the great relationship between Darwin and Kate a while back.  So sweet!
