Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I can't believe I'm finally going to bring home my doodle in less than two days! My boyfriend and I have been awaiting her arrival for months.
First, we had to agree to get a dog...okay, I had to convince him, and convince him, and perhaps beg.
Once T was okay with getting a dog, we had to decide on a breed. At least we both can agree that little dogs aren't really our style. A labradoodle or goldendoodle sounded like the perfect match.
Then...a breeder. Thankfully, T's coworker had just gotten a puppy from Old Mill Doodles, so we headed to their Web site. And then it happened. I first laid eyes on a sproodle. I HAD to have one. No question in my mind.
We called and scheduled a visit to their home about 2.5 hours away. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate and after an hour of driving in the sleet and freezing rain, we had to turn back. Not to fear, we were able to reschedule for two weeks later.
One look at their full-grown mini-sproodle, and then playtime with the full-size sproodle puppies and I was hooked. Completely and totally hooked. We immediately put our names on the list for the next litter, as all of the current litter were already going to families.
Four months later, on February 25th, in the afternoon, I get an e-mail. It says "guess what we have?" and includes a picture of a wiggling pile of sproodle puppy. I immediately wanted the solid white one with the big brown spot on its back. About 15 minutes later, I sent in my deposit.
Then we waited.
When I couldn't stand the wait anymore, I asked the breeder if I could come visit the puppies a week earlier than selection day. She said yes!
I knew that I could go meet my Sprocket on March 17 at four weeks old. I couldn't wait! The days leading up to the 17th were almost unbearable. I called on the 15th and asked if we could meet on the 16th instead. Again, my wish was granted. Oh, if I could have adopted all of the puppies, I would have. But sure enought, the white one with the brown spot was the one I ultimately decided to bring into our family. They called her Becca. I call her Sprocket.
I started posting pictures to Facebook. My friends and family declared her one of the cutest puppies they'd ever seen. And I agree.
After countless trips to Petco, Petsmart and numerous "boutiques," we're ready. Sprocket's room is ready for her. She has a vet appointment scheduled for next week. We meet with the dog walker tonight. Less than 48 hours to go...

Never heard of a sproodle. Shows what I know. The picture you have as your profile picture & what you described Sprocket to be don't seem to match??? This is such an exciting time! ENJOY IT!
