We made it through the first few months pretty well. A few bite scars but overall it has been a loving ride minus the first few nights. Nothing a few glass of wine didn't cure.
Lilly had her first vacation at Dori and Rua's Doggy Resort and Spa. I would highly recommend it. Rua is the best hostess and shared her toys and her mom and dad. I can not say enough good things about Dori and Doug. How many people do you know that would volunteer to take a puppy for 5 nights that they haven't met? This is just one of the wonderful things about Doodle Kisses, the lifelong friends that you meet. I felt like I was leaving my baby with skilled parents of a teenage and didn't worry at all knowing that she would be well taken care of and loved. Now Lilly goes to the car and looks and me and without words tells me she is ready to go back to Rua's house. Dori taught her down. I am looking forward to the next visit when she will teach her; stay, leave, heal, and don't jump.
Lilly had her last puppy shot this morning and weighs in at 10 pounds. She wore her halloween dress and was trying to take it off the whole time. She is a country girl and would rather go naked and barefoot.
She will ring the bell to go outside and has not had an accident for awhile. She never pooped in the house but would pee in her tray in the kitchen if I didn't watch her. The tray is still down but she rings the bell now. However she still rings the bell to go out and look for sticks, bugs and to chase leafs falling from the tree.
I am excited to take her on walks now without worrying about other dogs. There are two dogs that run free in the village and I was afraid for them to get close to Lilly. She will not be able to play with them because I am a mean mom and these two run in the trees and swim in the creek and I am freaked out by ticks. I am forever picking through Lilly's hair for ticks and fleas even if she is on front line.
She is loosing her baby teeth and has quit biting us. When she finds something to bite/chew that isn't hers, I say un, un, un, Lilly NO. and she stops. We are working on stay for more than 1 second. She will sit and thanks to Dori will go to the down position. Lilly sleeps in her crate but will not go in willingly. She has a toy box and will root around for just the right one to let in her day bed and chew one. She will fetch and come back to us but won't drop it. She loves bully sticks! She likes to sit in my lap and take naps with me. She has not started loosing her baby hair yet, and just like with my babies, I wonder what she will look like when she is older. She is a delight and we love her. Next week, I will go visit the grandsons and Lilly and Dad will be alone for 10 days. It should be interesting.

Lilly there's a whole world out there just waiting for you to explore! Go have fun.
Thank you for the kind recommendations for Dori and Rua's Doggy Resort & Spa. You are too kind. It truly was our pleasure. I can't wait until they get together again...I'll work on "stay". Tell Scott if he needs a time-out to bring Lilly to us for a while!
What a relief to have all her puppy shots done. We got the "all clear" from our vet yesterday after Bailey had her staples removed after being spayed. We don't have to go back unless needed for a year...What will I do with no vet bills for awhile LOL
Enjoy baby Lilly...she is a beauty!
