Lucy at 20 months

Gosh, its been ages since I  last wrote a blog about Lucy. How time flies! Where to I begin? Let me first start by saying our (my DH and I) worlds revolve around Lucy. She is the center of our universe. Our 1st dog... who would have thunk it? We now go biking with Lucy on linear park trails and beaches (the latter, off leash), go for agility training, and take her to dog parks and walks around the neighborhood. We basically plan our vacations around her, going to only the best places that not only allow dogs, but actually cater to them as well. In short, We Love Lucy!

 

Lucy has been a great dog. Very smart and easily trainable. She's affectionate and playful and loves a good game. That spirited side gets her into trouble from time to time, especially when she starts viewing EVERYTHING as a game. I think she just can't help herself. Her fun spirit is just part of her nature.

 

Lucy is such a sweetheart. She loves her daddy and will do just about anything with him. Their greatest joy is just hanging out, her chewing on a bully stick, him watching golf on TV. They truly are buds. She loves to nuzzle up against us in bed and often sleeps with us, but she also has her own thick bed on the floor for those times she prefers to sleep alone.

 

Its hard to remember what life was like before Lucy, she's such an intregal part of our lives now. DH says getting a dog (especially Lucy) was the best idea I ever had! Can't wait to see what the future holds, with Lucy in it.

Isn't it the truth!  How did you ever exist without her as part of your family?  I was interested in seeing if you have ever tried the BTL (bike tow leash) with her.  It fastens on the back wheel and seems very safe.  Biggest problem for us was the goldendoodle pulling so hard that he was choking.  I solved that problem with a harness.  Now the pull is on his back instead of on his neck and it seems to work much better.  Take a look at the photos on my page to see the doodles and the BTL.  Enjoy the new puppy!

I can't imagine life without Hudson either. He is definitely our 3rd child. Lucy is a lucky dog to be enjoying such a good life!

Hello Lucy, my littermate sister.  Tura here....20 months too! My mom is jealous because you always look so neat and well groomed and I am a hairy monster...or at least that is what she calls me.  I can't help it if I want to run and roll in the grass or smell every single thing.  That's who I am.  I have a little sister who bugs me and steals my favorite ball and jumps on me when I'm trying to sleep.  Your lucky you don't have one of those!  We are very lucky we have humans that love us, aren't we?  Hope we can meet again someday.....we could play!

Loved this post! I can relate to so many things you have said, Darwin is our first dog and has totally become the center of our lives. :-) We love it that way.
