The pups spent their first night in the pen last night and did just fine--all was well this morning. They are now walking around and playing whenever they aren't conked out. When I stand in the pen, they paw at my pants, bite my hem and sometimes fall asleep on my slippers. I got a few great new pictures today and wanted to share them with all of the puppies' fans. Some of the biggest fans will be here on Sunday when "Sugar donut" meets his new family--pictures to follow!

That is Rafi (a.k.a. Porkchop) that is on his back...of course. Sugar donut likes to snuggle in. he was crying again this morning when all his brothers had nodded off and I went into the pen to do some cleaning for a few minutes. He settled right in next to my leg and went to sleep--i think he is making the transition to a "people" mommy. They all ate with Lyric standing up this morning--which is much easier on her. They must have grown overnight, because they couldn't quite reach her yesterday!!
Sugar donut's new parents and their kids come tomorrow--we'll see if they have a new name picked out. All the new owners live within two hours so far (we have one puppy left that has not been purchased--"twinkletoes") so I plan to have a litter reunion in the fall--that will be fun to have pictures of and, of course, I will post them!
By the way, I took the puppy pile pictures while the pups were inside the crate. I just let the lens portion of my Canon Powershot stick through the wires of the crate--worked well! There is a lot of sun next to the pen--two glass doors--so i didn't need a flash. That makes the colors so much more natural. But, I always have to edit a bit when photographing the black pups to remove the shadows so that you can see their faces. I can do that easily on my Mac.
