Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

After a three hour trip (sounds like the start of Gilligan's Island), Latte arrived safe from her stint in the Richland County lockup in Mansfield, Ohio. She settled well on the car ride, after giving her opinion on the route we were taking - she thought she knew a better way but we stayed on the GPS route, much to her dismay.

When she arrived in Michigan she met her foster brother, Clifford. They tolerated each other in the front yard and then moved to the back to play chase. Clifford is definitely faster, but that might be because Latte could stand to lose a few pounds.

After an hour-long bath we could finally see her beautiful coloring. Her fur is latte and her eyes are a glowing amber - a very striking look.

She has been a doll about pottying outside (I hope I didn't just jinx myself) but needs a little work on her leash skills. Since she isn't spayed yet (and may be in heat) we will have to wait a bit to venture out on walks.

Latte is a friendly girl in need of some basic grooming - which we will take care of today. She has tried to tell Clifford she is boss but has not been agressive about it at all. She loves to sit by me while I'm on the computer - although it obviously bores her because she ends up sleeping at my feet.

Latte is stunning! Once again, you just have to wonder how does someone turn these dogs in to the shelter!

When I talked to the shelter they said about a year. Her paperwork says 1 - 2 years. I'll ask the vet for his opinion when he does her surgery.

Clifford says an indoor pool would be great, last I saw him he was packing his bandana with toys and snacks and looking at Mapquest for directions to your house.

Unfortunately, everyday around here is another episode after the Great Flood of 2010. I am ready to donate my house to the Alpah Doodle House, complete with indoor pool! Good luck with the Latte's surgery. How old is she?

That would be great. Hopefully her surgery will go smoothly and she'll be healed and ready to romp soon. Let's hope you don't have another episode of reality tv anytime soon!

We found out this evening that Latte is a counter surfer - something Clifford has never done. We are definitely hoping she doesn't teach him this trick but she sure enjoyed the chicken that was cooling on the counter...ironically, it was for their dinner anyway.
She has settled in very well. We trimmed the majority of her mats and gave her another bath. Her surgery is set for Monday then she will have a chance to get comfortable and enjoy the stability of family life.

Here are a few pictures we took.

Sounds like Latte just wants to get her party on and the sooner the better.
