MISSING THE DOODS

[Jane, Guinness and Murphy]

I'm sitting here waiting for the carpet steam cleaning guys to show up...you know, that 4 hour "window". I sent the boys to Daycare because I thought that it would be too crazy around here, and now I'm missing them. I don't know what to do with myself...so here I am on DK living vicariously thorough all of you. The Doods are usually my "entertainment". Yesterday's "show" still has me laughing. There was a big black ant that got in through the front door, and he was crawling across the floor in the foyer. Murphy was sound asleep in the kitchen. Guinness was on "guard duty" which is his new thing. So he spots the ant, and doesn't quite know what to make of it. He tries doing a "play bow" first, and the ant keeps moving. Then he smells it, but when the ant starts moving faster, he gets scared. He backs off and starts barking like crazy at the ant. This wakes Murphy who decides he should see what's going on. He comes in, takes one look at the ant, and eats it. Now Guinness is freaked because he doesn't know where the ant went. He's running in circles and smelling like a "whackadoodle". Murphy heads back to the kitchen and goes back to sleep. It really was a funny scene. It doesn't take much these days...okay, I'm going to go do something constructive like laundry.

Very funny and entertaining! Yes, they are fun to watch! I'm having trouble with those big black bumble bees, they don't do anything but BUZZ around really loud! I just hope he doesn't eat one!

What a wonderful moment! Thank you for sharing it. Last summer I was actually chased by a very aggressive bee. I picked up a couch cushion, swatted the bee who was then knocked into a the running ceiling fan which shot it directly into my dogs mouth.Dog was surprised but pleased!

That is funny.... Shelby likes to "play" with spiders.... which means, paw at them and pick them up with her teeth until they are so wounded or dead that she can eat them! I love the mental picture of Guinness barking at the ant... that is too funny!

We sang it to my eight year old brother and he told me it was embarrassing and I shouldn't anymore. Those words were pretty harsh coming from an eight year old who still picks his nose in public. I think I'll refrain from further humiliation. I think DH and I forget how crazy we seem to everyone else... ha ha!
