Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
It is so funny...I love my Doodles they are very much a part of our family. My husband thinks I'm a little crazy but that's ok because what comes around goes around. I told him I was going to tell my DK family about what he did to me tonight soooo here it goes......A little history first though just because when I get to the point of this story you will understand what I mean by my husband is turning into a Doodle addict. Last year I signed up and did the Doodle x-mas card exchange and it was soooo much fun. We couldn't wait to get home and see how many Doodle cards we had gotten in the mail that day and then the next morning our little girl would take them to daycare to show the kids there the pictures of all the doodles and I would take them to work to show them off and my husband would look at them and say they were pretty cool.............................Well now let's fast forward to the present time....last week when the first Doodle card arrived my husband brought the mail in and said look we got a card I wonder who it's from I said oh it's probably a Doodle card because I didn't recognize the address so I asked him to leave it for when our little girl got home so she could open it, I can't even tell you how many times he wanted to open that card. Then the other night he went out to get the mail and we were all in the kitchen waiting for him to come back in and he said we didn't get any cards...and at the same time we were like none not even one.....he hid them under his shirt...picking on us like that saying we didn't get any. Can you believe this!!!! So tonight I got home and there were no cards sitting on the counter so I thought I bet he hid them so I thought I bet he hid them on top of the fridge....so I tried to feel around up there but it's a little tall so I hopped up on the counter so I could get a better look and see if he hid them up there. Do you know what I found?? Absolutely Nothing.....so now I'm thinking to myself I can't believe I actually hopped up on the counter to look on the fridge to see if my husband hid the cards.... I must be crazy( I was actually thinking I was) now for the last 3 days we have gotten no cards so when I said tonight that I thought that was really wierd....DO YOU KNOW WHAT HE DID...he pulled a stack.... yes I said a STACK of cards out of the Cupboard where I keep my spices he stuck up there earlier to hide them from me so I would think I didn't get any cards again....What was he thinking I know that I can almost expect at least 1 Doodle card in the mailbox everyday til x-mas. HE HAD 10 CARDS UP THERE!!!!!! So now to the husband addicted to Doodle cards,,, our little girl at this point is already in bed asleep so he asked me if I looked at them, I said no because she likes to open them (I cut the top open so she can easily pull them out and not tear them accidently) so I would have to wait til tomorrow and he just couldn't handle it HE PULLED EACH CARD OUT SO HE COULD LOOK AT THEM AND THEN PUT IT BACK IN THE ENVELOPE I of course was looking at them as he pulled them out too but the point here is He hid them from me & then couldn't wait til tomorrow to look at them Sooooo what do you think I know I'm addicted to these loveable dogs and DoodleKisses but I also now believe my husband is also. I can just tell the next couple of weeks it's going to be a race to the mailbox. So thanks to our Doodles and the DoodleKisses Holiday card exchange group for making our holiday a little more interesting. We just love getting the cards.
P.S. Believe it or not last year we got more Doodle cards than family cards and so far this year with todays card count of 10 we have now received 19 Doodle cards vs 0 family cards so far this year.....

He's a Doodle junkie!!
We got 11 Doodle cards in the mail today, when he came in from the mailbox he was all excited that we got so many and decided not to hide them...How funny...
So, it was blowing snow and bitterly cold out yesterday. No way could I get my DH to open the sliding door and take Rua out 5 feet to go potty. But, at 6PM when I asked if he had got the mail (he had to go into work for a while and the mail box is across the street and down 1 door), he immediately put on his coat, hat and boots and GLADLY went to the mail box! Count - Doodle cards = 26, Family & Friends cards = 6! I took Rua in to get her photo taken at a photography studio on November 23rd, thinking I was really on top of cards this year. Friday afternoon I FINALLY was able to view the proofs on line. So, I probably won't have my cards out until 12/16!
I admit to all of you that YOU are the only cards sent so far....the stack of family cards are on the coffee table still waiting to be addressed. In my defense I have received 3 from family and friends and 23 from fellow Doodlers.
Now thats a funny story....And such a great DH. Being a DH myself, I am nuts for Doodles!!
I love this story! It sounds like the doodles are working their magic on your DH!! hee hee!!
Unfortunately, I could not participate this year as I usually take a holiday picture with both of my children, and my doodle, Samson. But this year, my daughter is London and will be home tomorrow, Dec. 12th. We are going to rush and take a photo so we have one to send to family this year.
very funny! My 21,19 and 17 year old sons just roll their eyes when they heard I was doing the card exchange. They already think I am nuts about DK. However you should see them with Achilles, total mushes. So I decided to hide all the cards from them and one night when they are all out I am going to hang them up in my foyer. They are going to die.
haha:) That's funny. How do you join the exchange? I guess that if I haven't joined already, I won't be getting any doodle cards this Christmas. It sounds like fun though!:)
Great story! Thanks for the laugh!! Sounds like something my hubby would do! I didn't join a group this year because we have so much going on. I really miss going out to the mailbox and getting the doodle cards. *sigh*
