Need Some Insight

Thinking of getting another doodle. Samantha - obviously - is female. How do 2 females do together or should we consider getting a male?

W w w w w hat? Another doodle??? Now how can you foster if that means 3 in the house...will your hubby survive? ;-)

I really don't imagine it will matter, especially with a solid dog like Samantha.

PD but will do fostering if/when I am needed. Nothing def yet but Samantha is so good and seems to be having fun - just not sure yet. Still in the doodle debate stage. Gathering all my ammo!

We have had all combinations of dogs all females, all males, mixed. It didn't seem to matter for us, however I think there can be some concern about female dominance issues if the other dog isn't a puppy to start with. Congratulations. Have fun with your decision=making = sex, color, size, F1, F2, etc. I would love to have another doodle, but it isn't in the cards for us right now. So I will share in your good fortune,

I think this depends on the dogs. I have had three female dogs, each has been wonderful in their own way but they have never gotten along with other female dogs. I have had four male dogs, all got along with males & females equally well. All were well socialized I can only chalk the difference up to individual personality. It did lead me to the choice of a male dog when it came time to get Kai.

I would assume that if they are spayed it doesnt matter? I know there are a few people on this board who have doubled up on the gender. Are you thinking of a FD or a PD (permanent dog).
