No Personality = No Doodle In My Book

Okay I'm sorry, but really! If you (as an owner/human) don't have a personality....PLEASE don't get a Doodle. My daughter and I were at the pet store yesterday and we encountered a couple with two dogs - - one looking very much like a Doodle. With a BIG smile I ask, "Is that a Doodle?" Response....a very cold "yes" and the lady just keeps on walking. My daughter and I stare at each other in disbelief. Did that really just happen? No smile!? No extra "stuff"!? She just kept on walking. So, we give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she is having a bad day or maybe Thanksgiving just got the best of her. We see them again and my daughter walks over and asks the gentleman..."What is your Doodle's name?" He looks at her as if she is a freak on a leash and says...."XYZ". Poor, poor Doodle.

Was that the dogs real name, or was he being an A$$?? I agree with you, poor dog indeed! I LOVE to met others and talk about my doodle!!!

I made the unfortunate mistake of thinking a Portuguese Water dog was a Doodle. I pulled over in my car to ask if it was a doodle only to be shortly corrected that NO it was a Portuguese Water dog. That is the dog I feel sorry for. On second look he really was not that cute.

Wow, bah humbug to them. It's bad enough to be grumpy to adults, but how could anyone be so yucky to sweet little Allyson, even if they are having a bad day???????

All I can say is they must of had a bug up their butt about something. They surely are NOT you typical doodle people. We are all loving and kind just like our doodles :-)

That is so unlike any other Doodle owner I know.What a shame. I was watching the Today show last week and this lady had a video question about TG dinner or something.In the video it was her the baby and the Doodle! I am that type of person!

Anyone who asks about my Gracie Doodle probably wishes they had never asked. I just go on and on about how great she is, smart, best friend, makes you happy...on and on. Then out comes my iPhone with all the photos of her!

My husband took Gracie to Home Depot and was in an aisle looking at something. A man next to him was sort of a grumpy guy. He said "why bring your dog to the store with you?" My husband replied that he likes to take her with him and enjoys being with her. He made a comment basically saying "my husband was nuts". Then my husband said "you should get a dog, it might make you less grumpy and happier." The man said "I already have one and it is at home!" End of conversation. He certainly didn't have a Doodle...that's for sure!!!!!!!!

I can talk about Timbow for hours and knowing me I would've by-passed their rudeness and kept on talking. I might've even pulled up Timbow pictures on my phone, but then again, I'm a nut about my doodle. :)

You know how they say people's personalities are kinda like the breed of dog they own? That certainly doesn't hold true in this case! But you are right in that they could have completely had the worst day in the world. I do think if I were having a bad day though and someone asked me about Peri, it would perk me up.

I couldn't agree with you more...there's no way a Doodle could be their happy Doodley self with someone like that! It just doesn't cost that much time or effort to be a little friendly!
