This past week we were SO lucky to be able to head to St. George for our spring break! It was a much needed vacation, and it was SO amazing to pull into town and have it be above 60 degrees!
When we left Salt Lake it was in the 40's so it was awesome to feel warm! We immediately changed into shorts when we got into our hotel room, which had palm trees out the window!
We spent the first couple of days swimming, soaking up sun, eating out, and just relaxing! Then we went to Zion National Park which was gorgeous! It was the perfect weather, not too crowded, and we even got to see some deer really close up at the end!
Because National Parks aren't dog friendly, we left Darwin with the in-laws. We didn't want him to be cooped up in the hotel. Luckily the in-laws are great with Darwin and have a fenced in yard so they make sure to take him out for lots of play sessions. After 5 days of sun, relaxing and fun, we were excited to get back!
As awesome as the trip was, nothing beats coming home to this.
Looks like he missed us as much as we missed him!
We took him out for one last game of fetch before dark. Now he's sleeping at my feet, I missed my furry guy!

Awesome trip. I can't wait to see some of these sights myself.
aww, St George and Zion Park are my stomping grounds being from Utah originally, and we have a family cabin up Zions canyon, and my parents and a brother live in St George! Beautiful, familiar pics!
I live in sunny Las Vegas and it was 82 here all weekend, love this weather. If anyone wants to come visit the sunshine here, just bring your Doodles here to me, and I will watch them for you! After all, thats what I do, I'm a pet sitter! http://https://www.facebook.com/Crazy4PawsPetSitting. I watch lots of Doodles and I LOVE it~
So come on down.
How wonderful that you were able to take a nice trip and had somebody you can trust take care of Darwin. I have not had a vacation ever since we got Monty (that's 3 year for you!) just because there is nobody who would take care of him (and now Auggie) and I still have a hard time thinking about kenneling the boys. I had to be gone for a month in summer 2011 when my dad died, and I will never forget how Monty welcomed me (and my mom) at the airport when I came back. He almost clobbered me down to the ground as soon as I walked out of the international doorway. And he gave me another celebratory welcome when we entered the house. Dogs are so special. See, humans understand what's going on. To a dog, you mom just disappears one day and you have no clue if she is going to come back or not. So when she does, it's major PARTY time. I love dogs.
stunning photos as usual! i'm actually thinking about doing a trip there in the fall. Oh and nothing like a reunion with your furrkid. Love it!
Love the photos Camilla ESPECIALLY the one of Darwin running to greet you! That's one happy boy!
That picture of him running to you is just priceless!
You had me at "above 60 degrees", lol!
The photos are great. The trip looks wonderful, but what was waiting for you when you got home looks even more wonderful!
How wonderful, a vacation and the most wonderful doodle to come home to. Sound and looks like a wonderful break.
I really think that the next time we go on vacation, I'm taking you with me! No one can capture nature's beauty like you! Your pictures -- of vacation and of Darwin -- are just terrific!
