Just had one of my new puppy families call and tell me that when she took her pup to the vet for a check to comply with my guarantee, that the vet told her they had just confirmed that a dog had come in with Parvo. They let her know while she was in the waiting room.  I was so glad I had told all my new families not to let the puppies touch the floor or be handled or touched by anyone but the vet.  She beat a hasty retreat and cloroxed her shoes before stepping onto her property.

Lynne,

Great post. One I  hope gets a lot more attention.  When Spud was a puppy, I think my husband thought I was being extremely protective because I refused to let him down on the floor at the vets.  Even as he got older I was carrying him into the vets at almost 30lbs.  So many GERMS there.  No fault of the vets, however I was very cautious.  Still am when I go in there.  Just like any medical facility, you go in healthy and come out really sick.

Glad your pups are okay and safe.

Wow I can't believe they let the puppy into the office suspecting parvo.  I know a few ppl who have dealt with parvo and the vet would not let them in the office they went to the car a treated them.  They weren't even allowed to exit the car.  Parvo is a very scary disease.  I'm so glad you educated her!!

I hope everything is fine.  You certainly were smart to give your pup's owners such good advice.

Oh, that would have been horrible!  I'm glad you give such specific instructions!
