I had forgotten what it's like having a brand new puppy in the house.

Hershey is a cross between an adorable stuffed animal, a toddler in the terrible 2s and a defiant teenager. He's so cute and so bad all at once. How often can you bathe a puppy, because he likes to tinkle on the floor and then, somehow get it all over him. He managed to get my grocery list off the fridge and chomp it to pieces. (remember he's a little puppy). I am looking forward to his puppy training classes beginning June 17th. Yea!

Hershey is beautiful!!
I agree with you... they are just like a little kids, only with the fast forwarding speed!! You just have to puppy proof your house like baby proofing the house. Enjoy! The heck tick time will soon pass!! :-)

Just remember to keep the bathroom doors closed, wastebaskets on top of something high, and clear off that darned fridge! Ned has quit getting into most things, except he cannot resist bathroom trash and toilet paper.

Yes! Welcome to the zoo! LOL My house has never been so messy! And Abby is 5 months old now. She shred paper any chance she can get and just spreads stuff around...lol

What a beautiful pup you have and the name Hershey is perfect! When our GD was 8 weeks old we took him out every 15-20 minutes which was really hard in sub zero temp-but it worked-after two weeks, he just knew that outside was the place to tinkle. I miss those puppy days when I could pick him up and cuddle-now he weighs 68 lbs at 8 mths-lots of cuddling but no more picking him up!! Good luck and congrats to you and your family. Oh yeah-they love to eat paper-mine ate toilet paper or note paper all the time as we chased him around the house to retreive it from him. He never got sick even though I worried myself sick.

Thank you for your comments and suggestions, It's nice to have someone to talk to. :-)

He is so much fun, and wacky all at the same time. Today my daughter (7) and I set a timer for 60 minutes, when the timer when off, out Hershey went and when he did his business, he got a "treat" and hearty "good boy". I only had to clean up after him 2 times, and that was because of human error.

He has his cuteness going for him. ;-D We are really enjoying watching him run after our daughter. His back runs faster than his front. It's adorable.

First, Hershey is too cute and those pictures in the sun make him glisten--fabulous! My Phoebe is a 5 month old F1B labradoodle and she is the love of my life. Despite monstrous issues with potty training--now rectified, 5 UTI infections thus far, endless vet bills for those infections and literally chewing through my woodwork and my kitchen chairs (despite lots of chew toys/exercise/attention), I would not change one minute of her fluffy puppy self!

There is nothing that is more work or more fun than a puppy...it is like having a baby...washing bottoms, changing diapers, giving baths, and feeding, etc.

Don't we love those puppies. The time will go fast - enjoy it. He won't pee on himself for long.

Puppydom.....It is the best of times and the worst of times. This too shall pass. Mine is 6 months old and I already miss the tiny puppy I brought home 4 months ago.

I would just rinse him off right away with water (if he pees on himself) and then give him a real bath every 2 weeks if he gets stinky. Even if you just rinse him off at the end of the day, that should help. And if it is bad enough just use a little puppy shampoo where he wet himself only and rinse well. Although technically dogs should not be bathed frequently...many do fine with bimonthly bathing and the occasional extra bath IF needed badly :) By the way he IS PRETTY STINKIN CUTE!
