Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
My family and I (including Bexter and Maggie) all went hiking today at a state park. It was the 1st time we really have attempted to travel with BOTH dogs at once! It went just great! The kids, dogs, and my DH & I had a great time. The weather was absolutely perfect hiking weather (high was about 60 degrees). The only things I would change would be:
1. Maggie NOT throwing up in the van on the way there. Poor thing! She's really not used to traveling in the car much at all. We're working on that. She does seem to like it much more now! She even gets in AND out willingly!
2. A bee flying & landing right ON Bexter's nose when the van window was down. I freaked out, but nothing came of it. Luckily he has VERY thick fur. My DH just flicked that bee right off him & out the window! Whew!
3. Well...I know what ticks look like now...I saw one crawling on Bexter & immediately killed it. I looked everyone over, and hopefully that was the only one! Disgusting!
Other than these minor glitches, we had a FANTASTIC time! I am looking forward to spending my life with DH, these wonderful kids, and these special doodles!

Wow, great pictures Traci! Everyone looks so happy!
Thanks for sharing your wonderful day. What a cheerful ending to my day. Thanks
Sounds like a wonderful day--aside from a bee and some throw-up....
Look at that beautiful family! You are so blessed! Thanks for sharing your wonderful day!
What a perfect day you all had!
Great photos and story! (more wine please)
Aww - Traci - get photos and story!!!! Your family is beautiful and the doodles are so darn cute! We went hiking up Kennesaw Mountain today with Rooney & Stuart. We didn't see any bees or ticks but there was this one old, fat lady that had a hard time keeping up. She was huffing and puffing - oh wait that was me!!!! LOL.
Bonnie - Yes, Bexter continues to be a mommy's boy mostly, which I am thrilled about! It was one of the worries I had about getting a 2nd doodle. Now, I will admit, sometimes he is torn if Maggie is somewhere else in the house, Bexter will go back & forth. He seems to be very loyal to her as well already! But, mostly he does stay with me and when we were hiking, he would always be looking back to make sure of where I was. I loved it!
Laurie - By the way...I'm not sure if you noticed, the sweatshirt hanging around my older son's waist in the first picture is a Purdue sweatshirt! Just thought you'd wanna know!
