Hi all Roo here - This is an urgent report.  If you as a doodle or a doodle parent have a swimming pool, be on high alert.

Mom was trying to not get up and get our breakfast and usually we just snuggle in with her for awhile.....but this morning we had, had, had to get her up. We barked until we were horse (hoarse? - can there be two words that sound alike, but are different?) Anyway, we finally got her up, it was super urgent.  There was a girl duck and a boy duck in our swimming pool. Swimming in our swimming pool.  They didn't even so much as stretch their wings when we barked. We were doing our very best barking - stiff legs and on tippy toe, tail high and straight, deep voice. This wasn't just a there's a bicylcle in the street ordinary sort of newsy bark.  This was a serious bark and we had those darn ducks surrounded.  I was at the gate near the house and Tigger was at the back gate.  Usually Tigger is such a goody two shoes, but he was even surprising me with his barks.  I think that is what finally got Mom up - Tigger was on fire.

And you will hardly believe it, but Mom made us come in and she shut us in the bedroom with her where we couldn't even see the ducks.  What was she thinking?  She rubbed our bellies and told everything was okay.  Hard to believe.  I was seriously worried.  But you know what? When Mom finally let us get up those ducks were gone!  How did she know that would happen?

Tigger and I stayed out all day on alert for those ducks - in our pool.  They never came back.  I'm not sure if it was Mom magic or me and Tigger on patrol.  Just in case - be alert for ducks taking over your swimming place. I can put up with those goofy screaming parrots, they stay in the trees and sometimes they tell a good joke, but you really have to listen because they all talk at once.  The doves are okay, too, harmless although sometimes they sound like they are crying. The crows think they are hotshots, but they never go in the pool so we just ignore them. I don't really have anything against ducks, in fact I sort of had the urge to go fetch one for Mom, but they need to stay in the sky or find their own swim place! Ggggrrrrr!

Guinness and Murph are very proud of you guys!  Way to show those ducks who is in charge.  We have lots of geese right now, and big Murph wants to catch one sooooo bad.

Also - Luna is jealous you have a "real" pool - all she has is a plastic kiddie pool!  She finds it really entertaining anyway.

My parents' pool has a pair of ducks that have been visiting every Spring for as long as we can remember (how long do ducks live?).  They're a pair of mallards - my parents' dog (died last December at 18.5) didn't bug them because she was too old to care about a couple of silly ducks.  They come, stay for about a week eating bugs off the pool cover then move on, presumably to start the breeding season.

Roo, I love your reports. This sounds very serious. Before you know it, those ducks could invite other ducks over to their new pool and then you have a real problem. The nerve of those ducks! I hope you never wake up and find a GOOSE in your pool....they are gross :) Way to stay watchful!!! Keep up the good work!

Good work you two. Is no pool safe??? Geez.

Strong work, Roo and Tigger. I'm sure it was your courageous barking that convinced those dumb ducks to get out of your pool, even if they waited until you were back in the house. Maybe they were too scared to fly while you were out there and had to wait until you were in the bedroom to make their escape. You guys are great protectors. Keep up the good work.

I say let the ducks get their own pool!

Roo, Jackdoodle and I are wishing we had a pool that he could protect from invading ducks! (Well, I'm wishing. JD doesn't really like being wet. ;-D )

You and Tigger are doing a great job keeping those ducks away! I hope they don't come back, especially not early in the morning!

You tell 'em Roo!  Glad you are keeping you pool safe from interlopers!

Mom just didn't want to get up guys - it's Saturday!

Hope there is no duck poop in YOUR pool!
