Please - everyone say a prayer for my boy!  I'm sobbing I am just so worried and feel so bad.  Yesterday started off with Rooney being his typical puppy self, happy and bouncy, ate his breakfast.  I took him to the puppy sitter as it was my golf day and picked him up later in the afternoon.  She made the comment that she couldn't get him to poop but I didn't think anything of that.  So we went to the puppy park for his usual zoomies with his buddies but that is where I started to get concerned a little bit as he simply would not go run and play, that is not my Rooney.  Afterwards I brought him home and we went for a little walk - he did poop then and it looked fine so I wasn't as worried.  But then I fed him dinner and immediatly he puked it right back up.  So I called the vet (4:55 p.m.) that they were one vet short and wouldn't be able to see him till Thursday.  I still wasn't too worried and we had a quiet evening and Rooney slept next to me all night without a problem.  We got up at 3:00 a.m. today - we were taking a road trip today and he was his usual happy self so I thought he was better - till I fed him and he puked again.  I call the Animal Hospital and they said to bring him in.  I'm thinking o.k. he has the dog flu or something.  OMG - they took x-rays and his stomach is obstructed.  They don't know by what.  I am heart broken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I watch him like a hawk, did he swallow something?  I had to leave him there, they are starting an IV and a whole bunch more Vets come in at 8:00.  They are going to pow wow to decide what to do.  They may do an ultra-sound and/or a scope with surgery being discussed.  I love him so much and I just am sick over it.  I may know something around 9:00-9:30 - I'm afraid for the phone to ring.  Leaving him was horrid.

I hope this is something that can be easily resolved!  We went through this with Whopper and for her it ended in surgery, so just know they do rebound quickly even if surgery is necessary.

Oh no! Rooney....you are causing your mom such grief and concern. I had a cat who swallowed a whole roll of gift ribbon (the curling kind) it was completely caught up in his entire digestive system all the way through the intestines etc. After a little surgery he was as good as new and stayed in my life until he was almost 21 years old! They'll fix this. And when all is said and done you'll always remember the time Rooney swallowed the ______. Hang in there. Duncan and I will be thinking of you today.

Rooney Update # 1

Just got off the phone with the hospital - not much news to report yet BUT his blood work has come back and is normal.  So whatever is in there is not toxic and not causing any liver or kidney issues.  One small bit of good news.  The radiologist is due in at any moment and we will wait on his opinion, the other vets have looked at his xrays and agree there is a blockage.  Thanks for your prayers!!!!!  I am praying this can be resolved without surgery.  He would still have to be put under for the scope but I am crossing my fingers that we avoid surgery.

We're sending loads of healing well wishes your way.  Hopefully there will be no surgery and Rooney will be back at the park for his usual zoomies in no time!

Keeping you guys in our thoughts and prayers!  You did the right thing ...... if I had a dollar for every little doodle bug on here that has eaten something they shouldn't, I'd be a rich person, so don't blame yourself!  It just happens!  Hoping for something that's a simple fix!  Will be watching for your update!
