Please - everyone say a prayer for my boy!  I'm sobbing I am just so worried and feel so bad.  Yesterday started off with Rooney being his typical puppy self, happy and bouncy, ate his breakfast.  I took him to the puppy sitter as it was my golf day and picked him up later in the afternoon.  She made the comment that she couldn't get him to poop but I didn't think anything of that.  So we went to the puppy park for his usual zoomies with his buddies but that is where I started to get concerned a little bit as he simply would not go run and play, that is not my Rooney.  Afterwards I brought him home and we went for a little walk - he did poop then and it looked fine so I wasn't as worried.  But then I fed him dinner and immediatly he puked it right back up.  So I called the vet (4:55 p.m.) that they were one vet short and wouldn't be able to see him till Thursday.  I still wasn't too worried and we had a quiet evening and Rooney slept next to me all night without a problem.  We got up at 3:00 a.m. today - we were taking a road trip today and he was his usual happy self so I thought he was better - till I fed him and he puked again.  I call the Animal Hospital and they said to bring him in.  I'm thinking o.k. he has the dog flu or something.  OMG - they took x-rays and his stomach is obstructed.  They don't know by what.  I am heart broken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I watch him like a hawk, did he swallow something?  I had to leave him there, they are starting an IV and a whole bunch more Vets come in at 8:00.  They are going to pow wow to decide what to do.  They may do an ultra-sound and/or a scope with surgery being discussed.  I love him so much and I just am sick over it.  I may know something around 9:00-9:30 - I'm afraid for the phone to ring.  Leaving him was horrid.

Jane - I hope Rooney is okay.  Hopefully they will be able to get it out without surgery.  No matter how great and watchful we are, they seem to be able to inhale things in a blink of an eye - it isn't your fault.  You are a great mom and did the right thing by taking him to emergency.  Everyone at our house is sending positive thoughts and prayers to you and Rooney.

Sounds like you are right on top of things and Rooney is in the best place for him to be right now. We had this very same thing with Vern last week and took him to the vet too. Luckily, he threw up two huge (and I mean huge) globs of stuffing he ate from a toy while at the pet sitters. You are a great doodle mom and things just happen sometimes. Rooney knows you love him and they are going to take good care of him until you can be back together. Meanwhile, we are sending hugs, positive thoughts, and care your way.

Thanks everyone!   Rooney is at the 24 hour Emergency and Specialty Referral Hospital in Estero Florida.  The specialty Vets get in and do rounds at 8:00 so I hope to hear something soon.  Please pray that they can scope out what ever might be in his stomach!  I'd hate for him to have to have surgery.  I am waiting on pins and needles for the phone to ring and yet so afraid to find out what they say!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just can't stop crying I feel so sorry for him!  And feel really guilty if this was something that he ate!  I don't let him out of sight and the puppy sitter doesnt either.  I know he has to be scared without me.  I am just so thankful that I took him in!!!!  I figured it was really nothing and that they would chuckle at my being overly concerned as he was acting normal today.   They said the big tip off is the immediate vomiting.  Eat & puke.  So if your dog/puppy ever does this - pay attention.

Please keep us posted.  Try not to worry until you find out more.  I know, much easier said than done.
