Sometimes all that fleecy fuzz is too much and out come the scissors. Yes, we get her professionally groomed every 6 weeks and yes, we are so grateful that she doesn't shed.....but it was time for a trim. Ruby stood still while we snipped her legs and tail with a small scissors [I know, we need a fancy one] but afterward hid out in her crate. A peanut butter kong seems to have erased any bad feelings.

Good equipment makes all the difference when you groom them at home. With mine, they have a tolerance level of about an hour before they start acting like they are standing on hot coals while I work, so good clippers and scissors are needed to make each clip count. I do get them done professionally now after 5 and 7 years of doing on my own, but I do a lot of clipping still in between so I can get about 8-10 weeks out of it. Have fun,it's really a good bonding/training time when grooming.
Doing your own trimming can be very therapeutic. We always groom our dogs and you get much better with practice.
Nice job! Love that peanut butter.
Nice job! I agree with Ruby - peanut makes all things good!
Good job! We're lucky that peanut butter makes all things better! :)
