It felt like Christmas morning! the first real snow storm for Quincy, and it is a doozie. We got up early and looked out the window to find about a foot of snow covering the hill-so much that the waterfall is merely a lump of snow hills.
I decided to be proactive! I found pantyhose knee highs and a t-shirt and dressed Quincy. My husband made me take the hose off since he said Quincy could not walk right and he would fall down the stairs (one of his favorite mantras=he is going to kill himself the way he runs down those stairs) Anyway, I took them off and brought him down safely, reapplied and tucked his shirt in---OK! ready. We did get a good foot and so DH got the shovel and started making a pee-pee path for the dood. Quincy got the hang of it and soon plowed through-seeming to have a good time. But wait, what was he chewing on? the pantyhose of course! A whole landscape of delightful snow drifts and Quincy is sitting there in the snow chewing on a knee high...DH got them away and Quincy did manage a few romps, but it is really deep for him. So, in he came, covered in snow balls. I got out the hair dryer and did the best I could-but those suckers really stick. I guess licking on these snowballs brings back memories for the poor boy! He is now up on the couch defrosting and melting all over on a blanket with his head on the DH lap. I am sure we will only get to repeat this a dozen or so times today! and by the way, he still has not peed!

My Quincy is named after the tv show, Quincy ME in the late 70's. It sort of gives away my age. :>)
Donna, how did you pick the name Quincy? We looked through boys name lists and my son and I liked the lyrical sound of Quincy, plus my husband liked the historical John Quincy Adams link. the breeder had named him Jonas, for for the polio vaccine inventor ( the liter all got medical inventor names ) so his full name is Quincy Jonas
LOL, They do have so much fun in the snow but sometimes you have to wonder if it's worth it. I bought Quincy a rainsuit and that serves well to prevent 90% of the snowballs. Nemo visited us today, he didn't leave an excessive amt of snow but we are now getting freezing rain. I just had Quincy outside to potty and the rain was actually freezing on his fur, needless to say we didn't stay out too long.
Laurie warm towels help to melt those snowballs off faster.
I have been frustrated with all the rain we get out in WA but right now I'm not missing the typical Chicago winters one single bit. The snowball pictures are soooo much funnier when I don't have to deal with it. lol
P.S. I thought it was a great snow outfit !
That first picture of Quincy is hilarious! Poor guy is gonna have to learn to pee in the snow. It does seem like it takes forever to get the snow off those fuzzy doodles!
Lori, Quincy was probably afraid his friends would see him in those knee-highs and HAD to get them off! Great pics! Thanks for sharing them with us!
