We had one of those wonderful sunny, mild November days today so we took the pack to the dog park. There were lots of dogs there. Everyone was having a good time playing and sniffing the other dogs. I asked DH to go back to the car to get a bottle of water and proceeded to walk towards the back of the park to play fetch with Harlow. I thought Sherlock and Baxter had seen me walk down the hill. After a few minutes Sherlock came down to where Harlow and I were playing. I looked around for Baxter, but he hadn’t come down the hill with his brother. I looked up and saw Baxter sitting at the top of the hill looking like he was on the verge of panic. I realized then that while he was playing he hadn’t seen that both DH and I had walked away from the group of people. I guess the poor guy thought he had been abandoned. I called to him a few times but he couldn’t hear me. So I began walking up the hill towards him and calling his name. When he finally heard his name and saw me, you could see the relief wash over him and my ‘fat boy’ even broke into a run to get to me. He didn’t leave my side after that and even had to sit in my lap as DH and I sat on a park bench. After a bit he hopped back on the ground to meet and greet other dogs, but only if they came over to us.

On an up note… We met two other doods, Barkley and Copper, both GLDs. Neither owner is a member of DK. We told both about DK and they were very interested so hopefully they will join.
