It's officially spring here in Seattle . The plants are sprouting, the birds are chirping, and it's not as chilly as it once was. It's getting a bit warmer, and now you can easily smell things.   It makes it easier to get up and actually go on the walking trail nearby and walk the pups.  Yes, my front lawn ( a small patch of grass)  has suffered dearly the past few months of potty training & sensitive belly issues.  I am on a mission. To stay clear of our front lawn . Entirely.    I would love our front lawn to be as it once was.  Carefree stepping may be a few weeks in the future!!!  :)

What we have is so trampled down that it would be hard to identify it as grass.  I thought about the rubbery mulch since it wouldn't have to be replaced so much - has anyone tried that?  I agree about the price of the canine grass - between that and the vinyl privacy fence we want to have installed I'd need to win the lottery too!

We are increasing our fenced in yard in the hopes that we can alternate and get something growing in our back yard. Next year at this time, I will probably have no grass in either location :)

We have mulch in our side yard where the doodles play.  I would have loved to do grass but it doesn't get enough sun.  I guess now I am glad I went with mulch!!

My sister and I did look into K9 grass. A bit expensive $10.00sq ft vs $1.00-$2.00 for sod.,Our yard is not very big and the estimate was`$10,000.The Company had 4 different samples of varying height and texture. So unless we win the lottery it will be that big bag of grass seed $69.99 we saw over the weekend.

I know what you mean.  I have a fenced section of back yard (Portland) that has gradually turned into mud.  I was playing with Trav out there, but stopped a while back hoping the grass will recover.  Spring--but where's the sun??  :)

Artificial grass is not something I'd consider. One thing to be aware of if you do look into this is that it can get very hot!

Someone on DK should invent a fast growing grass or something to get grass to grow in our yards. There could be a fortune there. Our yard has no grass and it looks horrible. I never heard of Canine Turf..I am going to google that now.

Grass?  Green?  Fond memories at our house.  We've actually looked into Canine Turf (artificial) but I think the cost will make it prohibitive.  I sure would welcome ideas on how to either get the lawn looking halfway decent or an alternative to grass.

I know the feeling - our back yard is mostly mud from where Cooper has been running and skidding playing fetch. Hopefully the grass will grow back soon!

Your front yard sounds a bit like my back yard.
