The Top 10 Things I Have Learned From Stuart

10.  That "Rescue" doesn't mean cheap.  Between a very high adoption fee and his vet bills - we have $1,000 dollar puppy with no known medical history.  Never thought I'd say it but I'm getting insurance on this little guy.

9.    That puppy mills are very evil places and we must do more to enact laws that will stop the horrid treatment of animals and punish those that would starve a baby like this.

8.    That we all need to educate our family and friends about puppy mills and stop the purchasing of animals from pet stores.  They wouldn't stay in business if they didn't make money.

7.  That Stuarts personality is nothing like Rooney's and is only going to add to the joy, laughter, fun, oh and work to our lives.  LOL - He is a rambunctious little guy!

6.  That I have a wonderful husband who gets the Little Green Machine out, scoops poop and pitches in without being asked.  (O.K. - I already knew this one but I have to give him a lot of credit for putting up with me and my crazy ideas)

5.  That even though I can't spell worth a darn I am now throwing words like Giardia and Coccidia around like a pro.

4.  That "sharp" is a relative term.  I thought that Rooney's baby teeth were sharp - Stuart's teeth are like pirrahna teeth -     little shards of needles - ouch.

3. That trying to "catch" poop on a paper plate is a sport.  There is an art to it and I'm learning fast.  My neighbors must think I'm a nut as I walk around the yard with a tiny puppy, rubber glove on one hand and paper plate in the other.

2.  That Rooney IS going to be happier having a brother to love and play with.

1.  That I am getting more from loving Stuart than he is getting from me.  Love runs deeper when you have no expections.  I'm learning that I can handle more than I thought when it is done out of love!

Oh, Jane....Stuart is smiling!  He knows that he just hit the jackpot.  I love your top 10...I can so relate.  For months we never put that Little Green Machine away!  I wish I had thought of the paper plate when Guinness had giardia....it wouldn't work for Murpy - he'd need a paper plate platter!  Keep these stories coming....

Jane...that little face is priceless.  What a lucky little puppy to have you for a mom. Again I just love Karen's quote yesterday coined after JFK..."Ask not what your puppy can do for you, ask what you can do for your puppy" We can all just say "Ask not what your doodle can do for you, ask what you can do for your doodle:" as I think most of us feel that way on DK.

Tell DH to get a picture of the paper plate sport, sounds like an Olympic Event to me.

What an adorable little man! He looks like a stuffed animal! Quite an adventure for you and your family. How is your kitty taking to the new family member?

Stuart is such a cute boy travel bag included.  I just realized how much of a purse junkie I am.  Here is this adorable pup and what do I notice.  The Coach bag with red leather trim just like the one in my closet I believe.  I thought I was getting better but now not so sure.  Maybe I could get Clover a red Coach collar to go with my purse, hum.

Stuart is just too cute for words and looks like the happiest puppy ever.

And your Top Ten list made me cry. Stuart and Rooney really lucked out in the Mom department.

He is so photogenic.  i haven't seen anything but adorable ouctures of him yet.  He and Rooney are going to make a striking combination.   I predict that a future lesson is going to be "The larger the puppy the more important training is .....

Nancy - the poop plate is due to the Giardia - if you can keep it from touching the ground - no contamination.

I was taken aback as I scrolled down to see the picture.  Stuart is just breath-taking.  He is going to be so worth your hard work and poop patrol - I never thought of using paper plates - very clever - perhaps a future Olympic sport.
