Two Doodles get the freedom of the house for 8 hours...

I'm sure the title alone may have captured your attention. My one year olds, Daisy and Hunter, are in a trial period of slowly having their "space" expanded while we are away at work or on errands. Now, we all now the Doodles are smart, they can be mischievous, and will sometimes leave you guessing.

Case #06152010. (In case you're wondering where those numbers came from, it's just the date of the crime and I couldn't think of any other random numbers)

I left for work one Tuesday afternoon and decided that I would give them another shot at not being gated up while we were gone at work. This previous Saturday I gave it a test run and they passed with flying colors. It was only 41/2 hours on Saturday; however, today was a very different day. Today, I found out that 8 hours is not 4 hours. The return home became the scene of a heinous crime.

Let the evidence show that one, right foot sandal made by Cabela's has totally disappeared and with obvious teeth marks all along the edges and surface of said sandal.

Let the evidence also reveal that traces of torn up pieces were found on the area where both defendants sleep and play...their blanket.

Who are the defendants?

Daisy...a.k.a. The Diva. Daisy has a prior record, to include destruction on a door jam by chewing and eating an entire hot pink ring toy that she was convicted of sortly after the crime.

Hunter...a.k.a. The Horse. Hunter seems to be the innocent brother of Daisy; however, a darker side will reveal that Hunter aided and abetted with his sister in the destruction on a door jam by chewing. He was also convicted of stealing undergarments from the laundry hamper, and because of his size, he's been caught on several occassions of "counter surfing".

The defendents are on trial and so far, neither one has confessed to the crime and no further evidence has come out....

This trial may take a few days, but we will know which defendant committed this terrible act or if yet again, they were in it together in the trial of "To poo a shoe or not to poo - that is the question".

I also will take the case, pro 'bone' o, with Carole! Our defense: These two have very obviously been framed! The victims of this crime purposely set them up! Why else leave a pair of shoes out for my clients to find-full well knowing that they have a weakness for all things leather (ok, and all things cloth and paper, as well!!)??!! Nevertheless, the temptation for my clients was too great, and they acted on impulse. (It was a crime of passion...a passion to chew!!) Clearly, one of the victims of this crime had motive...they very simply wanted a new pair of summer sandals perhaps, and didn't want the other one to know!! I like our chances for aquittal: The Judge, and jury, will take one look at these faces, and we'll be home, I mean, crate-free!

Day two of the "To poo a shoe or not to poo" is coming to a close and the prosecution is still unable to prove which defendant was the mastermind of this destruction. Daisy testified that she was on her dad's recliner looking out the window the entire day if she wasn't quietly napping. Hunter testified that he was in the bathroom sleeping the entire day and had no idea that there were even shoes in the location in which the shredded shoe was taken from. Both are under oath and the jury is getting restless, knowing that there is more to this story and it's not being revealed.
As Hunter was giving his testemony, the prosecuting attorney started to push him in questioning, trying to get Hunter to confess, stating, "I want the truth"! Hunter quickly exclaimed, "You can't handle the truth"!
I think Hunter has been watching A Few Good Men while we are away in order to prep for his time on the stand.

HaHaHaHa, this trial MUST go to a higher authority. Two witless Doodles here were just appointed to the Doodle Supreme Court of chewed shoes, sandals, umbrellas, underwear, and various other important household and personal items.
Gus and Gypsygurl say the two are...INNOCENT, by reason of MDI = Momentary Doodle Insanity!

I have had a case of "To poo a book or not to poo - that is the question" but although I have 2 suspects at home I know already who it was: Tyler - the naughty teenager!
Ususally they are fine with freedom of the house although I have to say that I keep them downstairs with a baby gate at the stairs to the bedrooms; but both have never destroyed anything.
However Tyler seemed to be bored today and first of all enjoyed 2 sheets of paper which my beloved boyfriend left on the coffee table but it didn't seem to be enough for him. I have no idea how - but both suspects managed to open the baby gate and go upstairs into the our bedroom (door was open there - duh). While I picture serious Benny enjoying to lay on the bed and having a nap I also picture mischievous teenage Tyler searching around trying to find something to shred. He found the book my boyfriend is reading at the moment - a paperback with at least 1000 pages. Tyler managed to pull off the first 20 pages including the cover and spread little parts all over the bed and the floor. As I found only small pieces of the cover back I assume he ate it.
So far I couldn't find any evidence in Tyler's poo but he needs to watch his back :)

ROFLOL--to poo a shoe... :-)
Porter likes cheap flip-flops, the 2/$5 from Old Navy kind. Thank God.
