Update on Tigger from Mom

Tigger went to the vet today for his post surgery check. All is well. He has pooped out all the pieces. My daughters are feeling much better also. Thanks for all your well wishes to Roo's post.

The day of Tigger's surgery just before he was scheduled, a Boxer was brought in who had swallowed an entire wire coat hanger, clothes and all. He went first as he was in acute distress. Tigger really only had his belly skin opened and the small intestine "run" (twice) by the vet's fingers. Everything had moved to the colon while Boxer (doing well) was undergoing coathanger removal. Once things hit the colon they nearly always pass without incident. I was told Tigger only had to have surgery because he was repeatedly throwing up, which I have learned is often a sign of a puncture somewhere. But all was well and he is feeling good, but not loving the e-collar. One more week and staples come out and goodbye e-collar.

Glad to hear Tigger is on the road to recovery. It is amazing how quickly they can get into something so dangerous. Seems you can't take your eyes off them for a minute.

BTW...how does a Boxer or for that matter, any dog, manage to swallow the whole thing??? Amazing when you think about it!!
