urgh im so mad right now

Our neighbour who lives about 1 km away just stopped by to see my FIL. He told us his dog just had puppies. He has a female husky cross who is very territorial, and a male lab newfie cross who is friendly but crazy. Neither are fixed and both are left outside. The husky is tied up outside pretty much all the time, the lab/newfie is sometimes loose outside, sometimes inside. This is quite common in this area unfortunately.

WHAT DID THEY EXPECT WOULD HAPPEN!

She had 8 black pups. I think she is inside now, but they will probably be outside soon. He is moving away for work, his wife is following later. She has to have surgery - cancer removed from her thyroid - first. They have 2 small children too. She doesnt have time to raise 8 large puppies. So the pups will probably not be well socialized, and will not have been de-wormed or have shots.

Im so mad, I doubt they will get the dogs fixed after this and it will happen again. They are probably hoping to make some money from this. 

If they take them to the local shelter im sure they will go fast - puppies always do, but still

Ugh, I hate seeing things like this. It makes me want to go over there and give them a piece of my mind!

maybe find a brochure on the importance of spaying/neutering your pet and leave it in their mailbox?  Are the dogs "well cared for" (as much as they could be for being chained outside)?  If you think there is a case of animal neglect you could always call some one (but i'm not sure if you would call the local shelter or the cops).

I really understand your frustration.  This is just so irresponsible.  We can only hope the puppies are adopted and go to better homes.

That's terrible!  I feel sorry for the dogs and the puppies!  Have you guys ever asked them why they'd want to do that with them having so much going on & everything?  Maybe suggest spay/neuter?  I don't know how well you know them.  Not a good situation.

This makes me furious, too! I can't stand people who chain their dogs up outside 24/7.

These people are dog owners, not pet owners and certainly don't consider the animals to be part of their family. We live in a very sad society! Every time I see a dog chained or tied outside it hurts my heart.

I can see why you're angry!  It really doesn't seem THAT HARD to be a responsible pet owner, so why are there so many irresponsible ones out there?!  My own friend has too many dogs for her to reasonably care for and some "wild" cats that live on her property that are unfixed and just keep reproducing.  She's my friend and I really do love her, but her pet hoarding drives me nuts!!
