Baxter, Sherlock, Coco and I were stretched out on the living floor just like every other day when mommy went to meet someone in our driveway. Guess what? Webber and his little sister Seda, their human brother Josh and their mom Linda were getting out of the car. I was so excited that I barked and my pack barked with me. Once everyone got in the house there was a lot of sniffing you-know-where and shuffling about. Webber and Seda’s mom and brother were volunteering at a camp for the day. I heard Josh say it was a camp for children with type I diabetes (whatever that is).
Anyway… after their mom and brother left Seda and Webber weren’t too sure what was going on. So I convinced them to come checkout all the good smells in my backyard. I showed them where the chipmunks like to hide in the wood pile and how to chase away the squirrels from my mommy’s bird feeders. Best of all I showed them how much fun it was to have a barkfest with Abby and Ace, the Boston Bull Terriers who live on the other side of our fence. It was so much fun playing fox and hound with Webber. He was the only one with legs long enough to keep up with me. Oh, I almost forgot! Baxter and Sherlock taught Webber how to howl like a Beagle.
In the afternoon we helped mommy make dog cookies. Everyone laid on the kitchen floor to make sure mommy didn’t drop anything. After a bit these wonderful smells started coming out of the ovens. My brother Sherlock started drooling (silly Beagle). Mommy said we had to wait for the cookies to cool before we could have some. Once the cookies cooled mommy let us do a taste test. Yummmm!
Then we all went back outside to play and bark at Abby and Ace some more. When we came back in I showed Webber and Seda how to crunch on ice cubes. Then we all laid down for a long nap until Webber and Seda’s mom came to pick them up.
