I just dropped Guinness at the Vet, and they decided to admit him at least for the day to run some tests. I feel like these guys are always sick, and it's making me crazy. I try so hard to do everything I can to keep them healthy, but it doesn't seem to be working. Guinness had an upset stomach on Tuesday, some vomiting and refusing food. I thought it was an IBS flare up, so I didn't worry to much. On Wednesday he seemed fine and wanted to eat again, so I gave him plain chicken and rice, and he held that down with no problems. Yesterday he stopped eating again, and was lethargic. This morning when he refused breakfast, I knew there was something wrong. He is a little dehydrated (although he has been drinking with a little coaxing). Now when the Vet sees me they "work up an estimate". Today's estimate is $600....this after $1000 for Murph a month ago. Thank heaven for pet insurance! So, I can't even imagine what's wrong with the "little Dood". I hate that I had to leave him there....he HATES being away from me. It's always something....this has not been a good week!

Jane...I can't believe that little Guinness has that!!!! He doesn't seem to fit the mold when I read about it. It is caused from being overweight and having high fatty foods...other things too but these are the two that keep popping up. Here is a site where people ask questions and get answers. Might be worth reading over when you have a minute. Poor little Guinness...and poor YOU! Hope he comes home tonight and all is well.

So sorry to read about Guinness after you just got Murphy back on his feet. Unbelievable! You truly are dealing with a lot these days. My hopes for a speedy recovery and no relapses for either of them! You deserve some smooth sailing (and healthy doodles) for a while.

Oh Jane, I am so sorry to hear about the little fellow. Thank goodness that you didn't wait for the weekend...I don't know how he got this, but it really doesn't matter, as long as he is going to be ok...When it rains it pours unfortunatly, but thank goodness they found what it is and they will make him well...I really have to look into pet insurance...I keep saying that, but something always comes up and I just don't do it...But when I see what the vet bills are, I am going to do that today...Please keep us posted on Guinness, and hugs to all of you there...
