Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

UPDATE!!!! I talked to the Candice (person in charge) and Wilson developed a hematoma in his shoulder, so he will be staying at the vet for a few more days. She would like to put him with us because we have another goldendoodle, but would prefer to keep him closer since her vet gives her better deals (she's thinking in case something else pops up). She has other foster applicants willing to take him, so he will be safe either way, but will give me a call if she decides to send him to us. It's really hard for me because he is the sweetest looking dood and I would love for him to be here with us to heal and I know Timbow would be a great foster brother to him, but she needs to do what's best for her and her rescue organization. The DRC also contacted her, but I guess she wants to keep him to adopt out from her organization!? Pray that he will fall into the right hands and live the long happy healthy life that he deserves.

Here is his info in case anyone missed it.

How far is this sad little Guy from you that you are too far?
3 1/2 hours AND I offered to go get him. She was a nice lady though and very thankful for my offering to come get him.
Yes, thanks again Judi. And keep us posted if anything changes. I could always help get him down to you if Candice determines it to be the best solution.
The DRC contacted Candace to offer her help with a foster home while the dog remains in her rescue program......not to take the dog into our program......

We always cooperate with other rescues and offer assistance when they request help for a doodle in need....Especially when we have available resources in the area.
thanks for clarifying Jacquie! She wasn't clear when she was telling me.
What a horror story and how wonderful of you to try to help him. It sounds like he is in good hands now...hope it all works out for him.
Sounds like good things are finally happening to poor Wilson. Thanks to you for sharing this with us Judi and for helping this guy get to a good home.
We are all praying for Wilson's recovery!! I am postive his rescue will make the best choice for his foster home (but I vote for Judi - oh, right, they didn't ask me) and forever home.
At least it sounds like he will get a great foster home soon. He looks like such a sweetie, I feel like swimming the Atlantic to wrap him up and bring him home.

I can understand anyone living closer, wanting to do the same. I hope someone can keep us updated with his progress.
Way to go Auntie Judi! You are the best!! Thank goodness Wilson is in a safe place.
I would like to know and make public what shelter had this dog and why this happened. If they only have a heavy tarp between dogs, then it will happen again. From the description on Petfinder, it appears that nothing was being done to aid this dog until the rescue volunteer saw him. There has been so much controversy surrounding the Memphis shelter here in TN that they have installed video cameras so people can view many of the activities there. I would think controversy and public awareness could help the animals held in whatever shelter had Wilson and allowed this to happen.
Oh Judi! We are all sending positive healing thoughts Wilson's way! If she does decide to let you foster I will be more than happy to ride shotgun or drive on a road trip to bring him to a safe house.
