Places that are "doodle" friendly ~ stores, restaurants, etc...... Let's make a list!

Recently I found out that there are places that you can take your doodle that I never would have expected.  Awhile back we were at Cabela's in West Virginia and they have a boarding/doggie daycare for customers that are shopping.  Just a few weeks ago we were out of town and going to Bass Pro Shops in Toledo, Ohio I really didn't want to leave Hunter in our camper while we were gone but I get nervous leaving her in the car that someone would steal her.  I called Bass Pro and asked if maybe they had the same kennel area like Cabela's and I was shocked that they allowed dogs to shop with you in the store.  WOW  it was a great shopping trip, I wasn't board out of my mind walking around with my husband looking at camping, hunting and whatever else.  I got to walk Hunter around :-)

All of this got me thinking there have to be many more stores and even restaurants that allow dogs to come in.  So how about we make a list of any local or national store, etc.  that allows to bring our doodles in.

JUNGLE CAFE & BAR - KEY WEST!!!! 124 Duval St, Key West FL. www.junglekeywest.com
We were walking by last Thursday night with our labradoodle, they stopped us to tell us to come in, they are pet-friendly! So we went in, had a couple drinks, and Jack loved it!!! So did we!!! Check out their website.

Also, CONCH REPUBLIC SEAFOOD COMPANY - KEY WEST. 631 Greeen St. Key West. www.conchrepublicseafood.com. Ate outside with our labradoodle. Waterfront.

ALSO, PEPE'S --- www.pepescafe.net--- 806 Caroline Street, Key West. We went here 3 times for breakfast. Were hesitant to bring Jack the first time, but he came with us the next 2 times. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Pepe's to everyone, with or without your doodle; it is a MUST for breakfast.

All 3 of these are within walking distance of one another. We were there without a car and able to go to all of these places with our doodle. It was a FUN WEEKEND!

(Also went in to Fat Tuesday on Duval Street with the dog to get a drink)....
Cannon Beach, OR! Dogs are welcome in almost all stores and restaurants. Plus, you can't beat the beach! The south end (S of Tolovana Inn) is unofficially open to offleash dogs...
Orvis is a place that welcomes dogs. They are evan is having a special day for dogs encluding training demos on May 2nd. in Carmel, IN
I agree with Cannon Beach, a GREAT dog friendly town. Also Pacific City,Oregon has a wonderful pub right on the beach that allows dogs on the patio and the beach is a bit less crowded for off leash runs.

Sunriver Oregon is also very dog friendly. They have 33 miles of dog (bike) paths not to mention the forest roads around the resort. We have never been turned away from any outside eating establishment in Sunriver. The bookstore is VERY dog friendly. Stop by and say Hi to our favorite boxer, Flashman. Sunriver Sports also welcomes dogs into their shop and of course, the dog food/supply store allows dogs. The mall is a great place to socialize dogs and during the summer the Grill has outdoor seating and live music that is dog friendly, they advertise it as Yappy Hour.

The outlet malls at Newberg are also very dog friendly, but you have to check with each establishment. Don't be afraid to ask, Saks is one that IS dog friendly!
If you go to Asheville, NC...there are several stores before the entrance of the Biltmore called the Biltmore Village that are dog friendly and allow them to shop with their families. One of my Tuscan Ridge Labradoodles puppies "Desmond" is a store. Desmond goes to work with his mom every day and has done so since he was 12 weeks old. The customers love him and many come in just to see him. The store is in the house behind the Corner Kitchen (where the President ate this past Saturday April 24th.). It's called "2 on Crescent" and their address is "4 All Souls Crescent" in Biltmore Village near the Biltmore House. Go shop and visit Desmond with your four legged family members if you are ever in Asheville!

The District in Henderson NV is very dog friendly almost all the stores will let you take your dog inside, and most of the sales staff are real dog lovers.
Also there are several eating and drinking places with outside areas that are great for a stop and rest.

I called the Apple Store today, and they told me it was fine to bring your dog in. It's usually pretty crowded though... so I think it may be overwhelming for a dog. But it is good to know I can bring Darwin in as I drool over IPads! :-)
To all PDX-ers, I was pleasantly surprised to see a standard doodle proudly prance into the Apple store at Bridgeport during a recent One to One appointment. The employees said that they love dogs coming in!!! Yea for Portland and its quirkiness :-)
Sandpiper Beach Resort, WA. Quaint hotel but they allow dogs. Beach outside is PERFECT for offleash. No cars on beach either. Copalis Beach, WA a bit further south is good too, lots of seagulls and sandpipers to chase.
In Pleasanton Ca. I have taken my Goldendoodle to downtown pleasanton where many of the restuarants allow dogs any place that has outdoor seating. Many times I have wanted to stop at Lowe's, Home depot and OSH to pick something up but didn't think I could bring Zoie in so I am definately going to try all three. Also I will check out Macy's and Nordstrom. I would love to hear of places in the Dublin,Pleasanton, San Ramon area and I visit Fresno Ca. alot and would love to hear from anyone that lives there. Love this topic because I want to take my dog every place I go.
I didn't know Lowe's was dog friendly! Now maybe I'll finally go look at paint colors and flooring!!! I like to take my dog with me everywhere and I'm always for new places to go. This is a great discussion. I know we avoid going out to eat because we can't take Dalai. We have wineries in our area that allows dogs (Naylors Winery, Moondancer, and Adams County Winery). And they have live music. Makes for a nice outing with the dog.
Winery's are a great idea, I hadn't thought of that! Good suggestion :-)
