Our help is needed in Texas... Temporary housing needed by fellow doodle lover

Hi everyone ~
A fellow doodle lover in Texas needs our help. The following message was sent to those in the breeder group. I have asked Catherine for her permission as well as Adina's for ways we can come together and help our fellow doodle lovers in this hard hit area. So first here is Catherine's story:

A message from Catherine Hardin to all members of Breeders on DoodleKisses.com!

My home and property are located just north of Galveston and were badly damaged by Hurricane Ike. I have 3 females and 1 male, all of which live in my house as part of my family. The house is no longer liveable and there are no trees for shade. It absolutely breaks my heart, but for their well being I must find a temporary home for my babies. One of my females, Aly, is expecting her first litter on September 26th. My website, www.hisacrelabradoodles.com has pictures and info on these babies. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! I am truly desperate for the safety and health of my Doodle family.

Next, if anyone has some awesome ideas of how we can help our fellow doodle lovers in Texas I will be glad to try and coordinate our efforts but am feeling slightly brain dead for the proper creative idea at the moment.

We are an awesome bunch and it is true there is power in numbers. Thank you in advance for your consideration in how together we can help.

I suggest contacting IDOG as either their Texas liasons and/or their Rescue/foster homes might be able to take in some of those dogs. How far is Catherine from other Texas breeders like Timshell farms? Linda Rogers is a member here...maybe contact her too =)

Dianne, I feel sure I can help; just need to figure out how. I have a mom expecting puppies that were due yesterday, so I can't leave unless I have her covered. For sure I could go there on Friday or Saturday, although could possibly make it sooner. I could keep her girl that is due on the 26th here in Austin, and I can find some temporary homes for the others here locally. I can whelp and raise the puppies here in the house. I would offer to keep her other adults here too, but our house is pretty full of people and animals. I am 4 hours from Galveston, I think. Where is she staying? Can she drive and meet me part way? If not, I can probably work it out. Can you or Catherine call me at 512-762-8030? I am on my way to the airport in an hour and will be gone for 2-3 hours.

I have sent Catherine a message here and to her web address contact email letting her know of the generous offers of help. I do have a phone number from her site but have yet to get through. Once her dogs are temporarily moved I will be glad to assist in food and other expenses as I am sure others will be to. I will post back details regarding this and where to send if you are interested. With this concern alleviated hopefully Catherine can focus on steps to move forward from this tragedy.

Virginia is a little bit of a hike to volunteer to help foster, but Morgan and Maddie have volunteered to donate their allowance to help out. Just let us know what we can do.

I just sent an e-mail to Sammy's breeder located in north TX. Perhaps she knows some one or even she might be able to assist in some way. This is heart breaking.

I CANT EVERN IMAGINE WHATTHEY ARE DEALING WITH. BUT WOULD LIKE TO ASSIST IF THEY NEED A TEMP HOME FOR ANY OF THEIR DOGS.

I will drive to wherever (as long as I am allowed) to pick up all (or one) of the dogs to transport them to a safe haven. I also have doggie supplies of all sorts that I can lend out or donate. And, again, I am willing to foster as long as they are kitty friendly.
