Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Yes folks, the Hopeless Doodle Addict Trophy is STILL in Ohio!  Recently the coveted trophy was passed on to me by the previous recipient, Joanne, her doodle husband Roger and their doodles, Spud and Starlit.  Many thanks to Joanne, Roger, Joanne's Mom, Spud and Starlit for the great gifts and the kind hospitality each time we get the opportunity to see you.  We had the opportunity to pass the trophy on in person AND have a mini doodle romp at the same time with some more DK members.  We met up at Bow Wow Beach in Stow, OH. The weather was perfect and we all had a great time!  Joanne tried to have all the doodles in attendance touch their noses to the trophy.  Could this be a new tradition?  I guess if you don't like doggy germs then maybe not!  (I left the doodle nose prints on the trophy for the next recipient!)

Along with the trophy and HDA journal Joanne sent an Akron T-shirt from the town that she  lives in (she kindly washed the shirt to remove the cat hair because her cat had slept in the box that the trophy and gifts were transported in, thanks Joanne!), Roger sent a couple bags of his delicious home baked cookies for Sheba and Duke and our foster doodle, Ralph, to share. Spud and Starlit sent a couple of their favorite indoor toys (Skinneez).  Wow, they even match Sheba and Duke's coat colors!  Joanne's mother sent an adorable little key chain that has little charms on it relating to dogs and there was also a Akron, OH Visitors Guide.

And now for my Hopeless Doodle Addict acceptance speech....
First, I want to thank Adina and Clark who created this wonderful forum and have put in countless hours giving us all a wonderful place to visit and for creating the beautiful DK calendars.  Because of them, and countless others who have contributed to this site, we all  have a wealth of knowledge to draw from and have become more enlightened dog owners.  Because of DK, I have had the opportunity to meet and befriend many DK members at romps and "met" many members online that I hope to someday meet in person.  Thanks for the support, kind words and fun times, you guys rock!  I am now fostering a handsome LD named Ralph.  Because of DK I have met up with some great people in the DK community who want to save doodles and offer them a better life. Thanks to the Doodle Rescue Collective for entrusting me with these beautiful beings and giving me a chance to help.  I never realized when I clicked on that button to join DK that it would become such a big part of my life!  Many nights when my DH, Mike, gets home from work he asks me, "What's happening on DK"?  Mike knows the names of quite a few DK members and their doodles names.  He has also attended quite a few romps with me and taken lots of great photos which leaves me time to visit with everyone.  If you read this, thanks honey for letting me indulge! Last, but not least, thanks to my beautiful, wonderful, goofy doods, Sweet Sheba and Duke "Nubby" Brown for bringing lots of joy and unconditional love into my life!

Are you wondering who will receive the HDA trophy next?  I guess you'll just have to wait and see!

It was a wonderful place for a romp and we had a great time!! I think we met Joanne and her husband and doods 4 times this year. It would have been 5 times but when we were driving through Akron on the way home from New Jersey it was raining and cold so we didn't stop. I guess you'll just have to come to Ohio, Nancie!! We'll have a romp in your honor! : )
Congraturatons! Ann!!! Looks like you had fun in a beautiful weather!!
Thank you Kyoko!

It was a perfect day but it would have been great if you guys could have been there too. Robyn and Blaze would have LOVED swimming there. We miss and love you too!!!
Congratulations!!!  Love the pictures... And the story.
Thank you Christine, glad you liked it. Do you think I got too carried away? lol
I did notice one thing--All the Doodles in Attendance know the 'touch' command :) Good Dogs! I just can't remember who thought I said, 'Take' and not touch. Which doodle tried to bite the trophy?

Either way, that thing is slobbery and even had a cat hair on it a time or two. Laz, ( my cat) loved the trophy box. She is so fat and really can not fit in the box but she must have smelled good doodles from far away lands.

Doodle On!
