I found some pictures that we took during the first month we had Darwin. I hadn't really seen these photos since we took them, and after looking at them I realized his coat has changed quite a bit. So I'm revising my past discussion on his coat change with a few more photos...

we brought him home at 12 weeks, so I'm not sure what he looked like before that.
when we first brought him home, 2" or so long hair, straight fur. He only need a normal hairbrush run through on his coat, and it was very fine and soft.

4 months old his hair was long and pretty much straight. Silky, and still required no brushing, and he didn't shed a bit -

Six months. I gave him a haircut so it's shorter, but you can still see that his hair is wavier and thicker. It was starting to feel a bit more cottony now-

Around 9 or 10 months - Another haircut, but his fur is obviously thicker and curlier. Still soft, but thick and cottony. The hair on his back grew darker and somewhat coarser. He started to matt at this point, and shed minimally

And finally, present. His hair has grown out again, it's curly when short, wavy/curly when long. No more shedding, but he still matts if not regularly brushed. He is very soft, even on his back which is slightly course. He is also a bit lighter in color now.

WOW! What great photos, and yes, you can see the progression. Darwin is so handsome!
One of my favorite Doodles! Nice photos showing his changes!
Darwin is very cute. Our Bailee that we got a couple of months ago had short hair when we got her at 5 months and is very curly but as it grows out it looks a little straighter. Hopefully she will look similar to Darwin in his last pic when she is older. She's almost 8 months old in a couple of weeks.
What a doll Darwin is! :-)
Darwin is adorable. I know about the changes. Roxy was much like your Darwin. She's never shed, but when we got her at 16 wks her hair was more wavy with a lot more apricot to it. As she aged (about a yr old) her hair began to curl up more (especially on her back which also got a bit more coarse and the top of her head and chest). She also started to matt at that age especially because we had Spencer by then and they love to chew at each other's necks! Now at 1 1/2 she is a lot more cream and a lot more curlier. When she is squeeky clean (very rare) her apricot still shows up on her ears, along her back and behind her back legs. Now my chocoloate boy Spencer started out pretty dark and really soft wavy coat. He hasn't change his coat style very much (some curlier on his chest) but his color has lightened with added reddish highlights to his paws and tail. I think he is going to have more dramatic changes in color than Roxy over the next year. Its so fun to see the progression. I look at their baby pictures and the teeneage ones and now approching the more mature age you can really see what cute pups they were and now what handsome and beautiful adult Doodles they are going to be. Love our Doods!
just found this group...I know I have mentioned on other pics as to how much Harley looks like Darwin.  Maybe that is why I think he is one of the prettiest doodle's out there.  Love, love LOVE the last pic.
Precious dog, Darwin, and excellent visual journal of Darwin's coat changes.  Thanks, Camilla!

he is gorgeous!!!! do u remember what he weighed at around 19 weeks? im trying to guesstimate how big Midas will be..lol hes 42 lbs now!! ahh lolol

I don't know what he was at 19 weeks. But at 16 weeks he was 25. The formula is to double the weight at 16 weeks and add up to 10 lbs. That would be Darwin 50+ lbs when fully grown.  Well, he is 65lbs at 3 years old, so i guess the formula was ALMOST true for us. :-)

I love Darwin! He is so handsome!

What kind of Doodle is Darwin?

He's an F1 Goldendoodle
