Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

My younger brother just moved to Chile a week ago. He will be living there for two years, and he's started sending me photos and letters detailing where he lives. According to him, Chile has an outrageous amount of stray dogs. He said when you walk through town there are multiple packs with 5 or 6 dogs in each just hanging around. Most of them look like Labs or GSDs, but...

There is one dog in particular, who he sees every day and he sent me a picture because the pup reminds him of Darwin. He looks like a doodle... I wonder what he is? What do you think?

I told him to go ahead and send him to me. :-) He's really cute. I'm going to ask him to take more pictures.

Oh boy is he ever cute!! He even looks like his coat is in pretty good shape....very doodly I would say. My brother in law lives in the mountainous jungle of Peru in a city called Puculpa. Same thing there...tons of stray dogs running around. He took one in...he looks like a german shepherd and is a wonderful companion for him. He is a preist and does not have his own family. When I was in Mexico a few years ago...there were dozens of dogs on the beach and the tourists would all bring them food. There was one puppy there that my husband and I fell in love with>>>it just broke our heart to leave him there. The little guy in your picture is adorable...please send us more pics of him when your brother has a chance to send them.
He's very cute, and his coat looks like a Doodle. His legs seem a little short though, or maybe it's just the angle.. So sad that there are so many stray dogs.
My doodle's legs are short too--could have been a shorter dog in the pedigree someplace, like a cocker spaniel. So cute!
Can your brother keep him? We'll send food money!
No, he is there on a religious service mission and they have strict rules, definitely no dogs allowed. He practically lives in their yard though so I assume he could feed him every day. I am going to respond and ask him for more pictures and info but he can only e-mail once a week.
I would say he is certainly a poodle mix if not a doodle. So sweet.....Camilla, your brother is obviously a good guy can't wait for more updates on the pup.
Maybe your brother can eventually bring him home. He is a cute dog.
Beautiful guy--I can see how he caught your brother's attention.

For a light colored, long haired dog, he looks remarkably clean. I wonder if he is a pet, just a pet in a different culture, who is allowed to roam around all day. Just a thought, not an endorsement for that pet-caretaking style :-)
This just breaks my heart about all these stray dogs. I hope your brother sneaks him home :)
I was thinking that too...that he was someones pet that is allowed to roam around. His coat is in good condition and he looks well fed and he is a lot cleaner than my doodle is right now! I remember when I was very young here in Toronto...lots of family pets roamed around the neighbourhood. Maybe people in Chile dont mind letting their dogs, cats etc run around.
Cuuute!!!
Looks to be about Peri's size, but shorter. I think that tail says it all - really looks doodlish. And it is so sad that there are strays everywhere, I would have a hard time with that.
