We have a big ole "Fat Albert Blue Spruce" Tree in the back yard and it is currently home to some little finches.  Well, Sophie as many of you know is fascinated by birds, so she will not leave this tree alone.  She keeps wanting to jump up into the tree to see the birds, so we have been working on "leave it" to keep her from getting up on the branches and destroying the tree!  She isn't happy about this and doesn't understand "How Am I supposed to find the birds if I can't touch the tree".

OMD. This series of pics is so adorable, Sophie deserves a big fat reward! Love that Lucy is just in the background oblivious to the entire scenario. Ha ha
Sophie must know Santadoodle is watching! Can't jeopardize being on the good doodle list with Christmas this close.
This is really cute! I just love Sophie's XMAS collar. I'm guessing those "birdies" are pretty nervous.
She is sooo cute standing up like that!!! "Look mom I'm not touching the tree" lol
LOVE the pictures! Poor Sophie. She can't even get Lucy to help.
I love that last picture, you can just hear her thinking, here birdie! Now if you could only get her to hold out her paw with some bird feed on it.
I know I shouldn't be thinking this, especially since Sophie is a girl, but the only thing that comes to my mind when I look at the last two pictures is it looks like a he standing up to potty. LOL
This is so cute, I love the ones of her standing completely up. And her collar is cute.
Your pictures are wonderful. Clancy is also bird-obsessed. We went to a friend's house who had a huge aviary in her backyard with a beautiful parrot-type bird who deviled Clancy with his whistles and tweets. We could NOT get him to stay away from this giant cage. I took pictures and he looked just like Sophie - standing. Mine were not good so I deleted them, but yours are just great!
Oh I just love the photos. The standing ones are classics. I often experience the same thing but it is because a tennis ball is stuck in our tree!
Sophie cracks me up! I think I'd rather have a doodle who tries to climb an evergreen than one who lifts his leg on them, or "backs up" to smaller ones, which is what JD does. Evergreens of all kinds are his favorite toilets.
And i have to say, I am so jealous of your yard!!!!!
LOL Thanks for posting. Sophie is darling and tree is wonderful, one of my favorites. I have two doodles also, only one of whom is bird obessed - funny how different they can be.
