Am I Normal????

I have been told recently that "Normal" people do not have Birthday parties for their dogs. As I am sitting here painting paw prints on party favor bags for Murphy's birthday party next Sunday I am wondering.....Is this true? Am I not normal? I would love to hear about birthday parties for doodles and see pictures if anyone has any. Having a party for Murphy's First Birthday seems quite normal to me :) I think he is pretty excited about it too!

Ahh, don't worry about it. I usually have parties for my dogs (kids are gone) and the last party we had for Hondo was on Carmel Beach. Why not?? Anytime we have an occasion for a celebration, go for it.

Is it normal for parents to have a huge birthday party for a 1 year old??? Geez, they haven't a clue what is going on. Murphy, on the other hand, will totally know what is going on and he will have a wonderful time and play with all his friends. A 1 year old baby...NO! Have you ever been invited to parties for kids that are 1 or 2 or even 3 where they really don't get it yet? The money and elaborate theme and decorations is unbelievable...as are the gifts. Would you call that normal...NO. What we do with our Doodles is absolutely normal and our Doodles love what we do for them. Gracie Doodle wants to come to the party. When is the next flight out?? Hope Murph has a great time and give him a big hug from us...HAPPY BIRTHDAY MURPHY!

Those people who told you that are probably not "dog people" and just don't get the connection between you and your dog. The older I get the less I care about being normal. My family and friends all think I have gone nuts over my dogs, but I don't care. Have your party and have a great time!!! Happy Birthday, Murphy!

You are as normal as I am...but you are sure outdoing me with this party...I can catch a flight from Toronto and be there in about 2 1/2 hrs....or the doodle Thomas and I can start driving there on Wednesday... I drink white wine...so keep it chilled!!!
