A couple of mornings ago I came downstairs and Ginger, my 13 week old doodle was out of her crate and sitting in the middle of the rug.  No harm done and I thought "Well maybe I forgot to latch the crate last night"  HOWEVER..today, we ran an errand and when we returned 45 mins. later, Ginger was out of her crate again!!!!!

Has anyone else encounter this problem??????

Yes!  The vibration makes the latch slide on Bella's ex-pen from her jumping and shaking it while we are gone. Hers is more of a latch that slides to the side where as crates we;ve had were the type that slide up or down. That seems a little harder to vibrate out of. Does Ginger have and accomplice in the house?

her latch slides to the side....
Yup....Blame it on vibration!  She is rockin and a rollin in there when you are gone.  Bet she is as proud as can be of herself for getting out of there. Looks like a cute little pink bow tied around that latch is in order.
Bailee who just turned 10 months old last week has become a Houdini Doodle too!!  She can get the top latch of her kennel open in a blink of an eye I would have never believed it if I didn't catch her in the act.  She simple pops the lever up with her nose by putting it through the little holes then swats it with her paw.  We are going to get a little clamp kinda like you would find on a leash and start putting it at the top of the gate door to the kennel to prevent possible breakouts.  These dogs are Very smart.
Smart smart smart.  We once had a cat that could open the screens on our windows. Pop the spring with his mouth and then roll his body against the screen.  Total freedom.  We had to put bricks on the outside window sills.  Good luck with this little smarty pants.

Soooooo Funny!  We also have a Ginger doodle whom we lovingly call Houdini...No kidding! We used to keep her in a little corral in the dining room.  She was NINE weeks old and we ran to the market for 20 minutes to pick up wee wee pads.  When we came home she was sleeping on the SOFA.  We thought perhaps she was getting under somehow, so my husband zip-tied it to the dining room chair.  No way she could get under it.  We left again a day or so later to grab some tacos....came home to find the same situation only... funnier.  We had left the TV on to comfort her and she was sitting there watching animal planet. HA... Finally put her in and waited down the hall to catch her in the act.  This video is NOT my Ginger but it is exactly what we witnessed . And our corral was MUCH higher...Kind of scary though, She could have been hurt on the trip down. We took the gate back the next day and bought a crate.

That video was instructive!
