It had been over 15 years since we had a puppy when we got Fudge. I forgot about the puppy biting stage. Fudge was like a shark. I stocked up on bully sticks to help her have something else to chew on rather than my arms and ankles :) It was only a stage and it passed. My best advice is to enjoy every moment and hug that puppy every chance you get...it seems they are full grown before you know it. Good luck!!!
It will be great getting puppy snuggles.
I wished I had stocked up on sleep!!!  My husband and I had had dogs before but never a puppy.  A new experience all around.  Good luck!
Well I should probably try tonight but I am in a hotel and quite eager to get her.
Matting.  Although Trav was my first-ever puppy or dog, we got through everything pretty easily.  Potty training, chewing, leash training (uh, fallen off on that one:), but I really wasn't prepared for the amount of grooming needed, or the possibility of matting.  Have fun, and best of wishes!
Yes, I am a bit concerned about how to avoid matting!  I once had a long-haired cat that got matted and it was a big deal to have him groomed!

Get her used to daily brushing, just 5 minutes with a soft brush and use treats. Right from when you get her home - she won't need to be brushed but getting her used to this will really help when her coat grows. Doing this when she is sleepy is a good idea, not when she is full of bounce and wants to play =)

Enjoy your new pup - she is gorgeous!

A good trainer.  Right from the start

Puppy obedience school?

For sure, do puppy kindergarten! It's great for training and socialization.
I completely agree with this one!  It's the best gift you can give yourself and your dog.
I really had forgotten how exhausting a new puppy can be! It was four months before I could take my eyes off of him, or so it seemed. I would really encourage you to crate-train your new puppy. Having him in a crate gives you a 'break' -- not just at night but during the day too.  Ask your breeder to give you an old towel or something that has his mother's or littermates' smells. That will help him settle down on his crate tomorrow night. Good luck and I can't wait to see pictures!!
